Lessons From The Edge will inspire readers to find the spirit to do the things in life they've previously been too scared to tackle, build the courage to know that failure isn't the end, and the knowledge that the impossible can be made possible. They will be joined at the London event by very special guest Jason 'Foxy' Fox and joined at the Leeds event by very special guest Ed Stafford. But because I’m freelance and a go-to guy for these projects for the last ten years, I’ve bounced from project to project. In his debut book, Lessons From The Edge, Aldo will inspire readers with his jaw-dropping stories and show them how to survive and thrive through sheer strength of mind and sharp decision-making.

Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. Cheerfulness in the face of adversity is a very strong message that everybody should occasionally reflect on. TV in a way puts you across as a hardman but really I get in situations all the time where I’m scared or worried and I talk about how that feels and how I got out of that. It’s about knowing that if you control your fear and your thoughts you can navigate any kind of danger. Leaving the Royal Marines as an expert in Jungles, Deserts, Mountains and the Arctic, it wasn't long before Aldo started to carve a new career for himself in the TV and Film industry.Lessons From The Edge will inspire listeners to find the spirit to do the things in life they’ve previously been too scared to tackle, build the courage to know that failure isn’t the end, and the knowledge that the impossible can be made possible. This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. Trained Royal Marines Sniper, world record breaker and extreme TV adventurer Aldo Kane is known for his ability to navigate and lead through challenging and pressured environments, whether it be abseiling into an erupting volcano in the Democratic Republic of Congo, rowing the Atlantic, getting locked in a bunker for 10 days with zero daylight, leading Steve Backshall into the jungle or being held at gunpoint. He’s teamed up with movie idol Will Smith, 53, as well as fellow daredevils such as Bear Grylls, Jason Fox and Steve Backshall for jaw-dropping documentaries. But despite rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous and experiencing life’s extremes, he cares most about giving people the courage to take on the things they’re afraid to tackle.

When lockdown kicked off I was in South Sudan doing a documentary with the BBC and I came back from there. With great adventure, comes great responsibility and we believe that we can improve lives through travel. While completing active service in countries from Northern Ireland to the Middle East, he became a survival expert across the different environments he found himself in. With a penchant for the world’s most dangerous, extreme and remote locations, he has compiled his most awe-inspiring tales in his much-anticipated debut book, Lessons From The Edge. I had all that prep from the last 20 years — from serving in Iraq all the way until now — so it was just a case of organising it.But watch this space, as we look forward to sharing more details on his expeditions and future projects over the coming months with you. We’re thrilled to have world-record-setting adventurer and explorer, Aldo Kane, as our Exodus Travels Brand Ambassador. There’s a lot of people who could have done the job but with the line of work I’m in with leading expeditions, he found out about me through the illegal tiger trade project I did. If you have watched any adventure TV in the last ten years, then you have seen his work, either behind or in front of the camera. With an inquisitive mind and an extremely unique skill-set, Aldo is well set up for hard-hitting investigative journalism missions.

He has hosted programmes for the BBC, Natural Geographic, and Discovery, and taken celebrities including Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody, and Henry Cavill into some of the most extreme environments on earth. Read about how we’ll protect and use your data in our Privacy Notice. This saw Aldo lead a prominent American Scientist deep inside one of Africa’s most dangerous volcanoes whilst it was erupting.Maybe it was the narration but it didn’t excite / interest me like Ant Middleton or Jason Foxes books. In 2022, Aldo joined us on an incredible expedition to the Okavango Delta in Botswana to witness and highlight the sheer skill and expertise of the local Mokoro polers. Being on an expedition allows them to be like every other person so I think, across the board, everyone is human and has the same worries and anxieties. We’ve been taking groups to incredible places for almost 50 years, which is why we’re excited to join forces with Aldo.

Aldo joined the Royal Marine Commandos at the age of 16 and became one of the youngest Snipers in the UK armed forces. It meant spending six months at sea this year during trips to the Dominican Republic, the Azores and an ice edge near Svalbard, Norway. It will reveal how this tough military man was able to cope with suddenly feeling worthless, how he overcame doors literally slamming in his face, how he came to realise that you can’t wait for things to happen and instead how he rediscovered his identity and harnessed his emotions to his advantage to find determination, purpose, and a renewed sense of belonging. Join Aldo live in conversation, as he shares jaw-dropping stories from his life and career – whether it be abseiling into an erupting volcano in the Democratic Republic of Congo, rowing the Atlantic, getting locked in a bunker for 10 days with zero daylight, or being held at gunpoint. That does sound a bit wishy-washy but when you work in extreme situations you see how fragile life is. He not only has a wealth of expertise exploring far-flung and hard-to-reach places, but also is passionate about shining a spotlight on the local people and unique environments of the places he visits. A former Royal Marines Commando Sniper, Aldo used the skills he learnt in service to become a survival expert in every environment. And that’s made apparent by someone getting cancer then they recover and run a marathon or climb a mountain or do this epic thing.
