A non-detachable cable makes the keyboard more susceptible to breaking at the wire and more difficult to repair. Not to mention, it’s really clunky and difficult to transport.

For the uninitiated, Topre is a sort-of hybrid switch, one that’s long invited debate. I’m not going to wade too deep into that void, but: The primary mechanism for a Topre’s key resistance is a rubber dome, the oft-maligned foundation of most budget membrane keyboards. The activation and feel, though, are similar to a mechanical keyboard’s, and the result is a unique switch that diehard fans swear by. The Realforce RGB marks the most drastic departure from the traditional Realforce design, which has remained largely unchanged since its introduction in 2001. It is clearly aimed at the more contemporary gamer crowd and as such, has a number of features that appeal to this crowd. Milestone features for the Realforce brand that are present on the RGB include:

Sự đột phá?

The Realforce R2 RGB uses double-shot keycaps, so the legend on each key is actually part of the plastic making up the keycap, not a print that can rub off. Unfortunately that font isn’t quite normal, with closed sections of letters and numbers left open, looking almost like an error (e.g., the 0 key looks like (), which isn’t great when there’s an actual parenthesis right next to it on the keycap. Ever since getting into the mechanical keyboard hobby, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a keyboard with Topre switches, but the price has always been the limiting factor. Topre REALFORCE keyboards are high-end keyboards built for maximum programming and gaming performance. Designed for comfort and efficiency, REALFORCE keyboards feature Topre’s best-in-class capacitive key switches which allow for durability and reduced user fatigue.

REALFORCE keyboards include Fujitsu Computer Products of America’s industry leading technical support, a 2 year advanced exchange warranty and U.S. certifications. The Realforce opted for an right-angle triangular shaped profile with a darker gray accent plate on the top right of the keyboard. The side profile looks as though there are several layers to it, giving it a more interesting depth. Spacebar on 87U is ABS plastic, while on R2 is PBT. R2 spacebar sounds nicer but also feels nicer due to the fact that spacebar on 87U has a sharp edge (which is one of the reasons some people flip it) that can be felt if your thumb finger is not high enough when typing. Fortunately on R2 the edge feels smoother, maybe due to the different plastic material. Please note that if the elevating feet are used on 87U, this issue is much less noticeable. Along with the keyboard and box itself, you get a small instruction manual that’s in English and Japanese. It basically walks you through the different shortcuts and settings.

Tinh chỉnh đèn LED RGB

I am using 87U and I have tried R2 PFU limited edition (TKL version), so this is a short personal comparison between the TKL models, but should be the same for full size models. So these are the differences that I have noticed myself: The Epomaker NiZ Plum Atom 68, still comes with an electro-capacitive switch design, similar to Topre, but at a much more affordable price point. The main downside to the quality is the non-detachable power cable. This is a poor feature that is really difficult to overlook. Keyboard is a Korean model with Hangul characters printed alongside the English letters on the keycaps.

At the Tokyo Game Show, held in September, 2017, Topre revealed a new line of Realforce keyboards [6]. Dubbed the 'Realforce R2', the new keyboards borrow features from the previously released Realforce RGB, including the case and PCB design, and on some R2 models, the APC (Actuation Point Changer) feature. The initial announcement comprised of 8 Japanese-layout models. The 2 standard and 2 standard + silenced models were released in October and November respectively. The 4 APC models were released in December, 2017.More's the pity that the previous versions of the Realforce boards had a non-standard bottom row. Now that the R2 has a standard bottom row, my old Topre keycap sets do not fit. Nevertheless, the overall scheme looks fine to me. In August, 2012, Topre announced that they would be ceasing production and sale of a number of full size keyboards, including the Realforce 106, 101, 103U and 103UB as they have been largely superseded by the 104U, 104UB and 108U keyboards [4]. Coming in a dye-sublimated PBT build, the keycaps are pretty high-quality. There are sub-legends also printed on a few of the keys, so you can preview what keys are on the lower layers.
