Description

If American buttercream is a bit sweet for you try whipping up a batch of Italian meringue buttercream. It’s silky smooth and very creamy, not at all cloying! Gel food coloring– If you want to color this frosting, I recommend using gel food coloring! It creates vibrant colors without throwing off the consistency of the buttercream.

Heavy Cream– Whole milk or alternative milk (soy, almond, oat) will work fine in this frosting recipe if that’s what you have on hand.

Then, you mix it all together like normal, and then split into three bowls. It doesn’t matter which colours you do first, but I did red, orange, and yellowtogether, and then green, blue and purple. I spent a day on set with an amazing production team, making two identical, monochromatic pink drip cakes.

I like to use a white sugar for the sponge cake, but you can instead swap this for golden caster sugar instead. This will give it a delicious caramel hint. It was practically the most basic cake that I wanted so desperately! Nothing fancy, no swirls or drizzles or compounding flavors. And I insisted on waiting until my birthday to make it. Since I had tons of leftover candy and pink white chocolate ganache, I decided to make and film a version of this cake for all of you!! Your child’s Minnie Mouse party will be magical with the help of the 10 Cutest Minnie Mouse Cakes! Instead of whipping up a homemade Minnie Mouse cake, why not get some ideas for a Disney Minnie Mouse cake that will wow your guests and delight the birthday girl!Egg whites: Whites instead of whole eggs with yolks keep the cake a pale white color. This allows you to get a gorgeous pink color. If you use whole eggs, the yellow yolks will interfere with the pink color, creating more of an orange-pink color.

To make the cake: Preheat oven to 350° F.Butter three 8-inch round cake pans, line with parchment rounds, butter the rounds, and dust the pans and rounds with flour, tapping out the excess. This will prevent rouge bits of ganache from dripping off the bottom of your spoon all over your counter and your cake. Adding Drips Using a Squirt Bottle Add in a generous squirt of pink gel food coloring. Mix the batter on a low speed, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl part way through to evenly color the batter. I kept the frosting between the cake layers white to really let the layers stand out. Then it all gets covered with a pale pink frosting, and decorated with white, pale pink, and darker pink frosting. 🧁 Vintage cake decorating
