For two women, whose solo trips were more than 50 years apart, having a mission gave them the strength and patience to push through obstacles. A sixty three year old lady from Maine gets up on a horse in 1953, grabs her little dog, and the three of them ride to California. Her travel companions included a strapping horse named Tarzan and her dog, a mutt named Depeche Toi (French for “hurry up”).

Banns for a marriage between William Wilkins and Ann Amelia Green were read in the St James’s Parish Church, Great Ellingham on the 5th, 12th and 19th March, 1865.
