Plenty of anecdotes about that one thing someone did to him and sure, they did apologize since and we're actually good now but let me still tell you about how shitty that was actually! It begins with Button’s karting days, when he and his dad would travel the length of the UK competing. A Honda ambassador, Jenson is co-owner of Rocket Motorsport and co-founder of Leger cycling apparel. The excellent “My Championship Year” is much like a magazine diary layout with a lot of detailed content. Jenson Button comes across as your big brother taking you aside and explaining all of the tricks of the trade that he acquired over his lengthy career in Formula 1.

What i enjoyed was the little insights into the role of the engineer or mechanic in f1 and the collaboration between them and the drivers to develop and race the cars. It’s still recent enough for F1 fans to relate to many of his stories around the back-end of his F1 career at McLaren but also offers a lot of information about his experiences as a Brawn, Honda, Renault and Williams driver. Jenson’s first book, Life To The Limit, was the best-selling sports book of 2017 with 133k copies sold through TCM. Jenson Button is my all time favourite F1 driver, and although this book taught me a lot about the sport and I enjoyed this insight into his life, it just wasn’t written well and took me an age to get through.

Matthew Phillips, publisher for Blink, Bonnier Books UK, said: “Jenson’s new book is funny, fresh and fascinating. Some fun stories and interesting insights into the teams and team principals he's raced for, and the teammates he's raced against (Lewis in particular).Frustrated at being in last place and faster than the car ahead, he attempted a passing move that saw the other car tipped over on its side, its driver's head against the armco barriers (but thankfully unhurt).

Formułę 1 śledzę od lat i każdą okazję, by dowiedzieć się więcej o kulisach motorsportu i rywalizacji zawodników oraz konstruktorów przyjmuję z otwartymi ramionami. It may sound a strange thing to say about a former world champion but I’ve never felt he got the respect he deserved so I was interested to see what he’d have to say. It's the laughs I've shared, the battles I've fought, some on the track with rivals and friends like Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Jenson didn't go into any depth at all about his relationships with former teammates, something I was really looking forward to. Although very hard-hitting, it was also an exceptionally eye-opening chapter on the basis that I firmly believed his dad had died of a heart attack. It's the pressure I struggled with as I closed in on my World Championship in 2009, it's the calm I felt every time I settled into the cockpit.

And as it happens, Santa popped it under my tree and before the Boxing Day turkey curry had even been cooked, I’d already started it. Lisa Hoare, communications director for adult non-fiction, Bonnier Books UK, said: “We wanted to create a great experience for fans of Jenson and Formula 1 — what better place to hold his launch event than at the home of British motor racing! The post-F1 related chapters look at his recent sportscar stints in Japan and Le Mans preparations and adapting to F1 broadcast commentary with Sky. He was at all the races, you couldn't see one without the other being somewhere nearby (except when Jenson was ACTUALLY racing, and John was obviously in the garage).

But let’s start at the beginning… The first thing that is apparent is that it was by no accident that Jenson Button ended up being in the position to win the F1 World Championship. This book exposed so much stuff you don't hear about at the time and I learnt a lot about what went on within his teams, with his teammates (Jenson really spilled the tea when it came to Lewis) and especially with his team managers.
