The NUK Teat also features the NUK Anti-Colic Air System, which allows air to flow into the bottle through the improved vent, stopping baby swallowing air and helping to prevent colic.

Apart from that, there is hardly any demand for bottles without teats: most bottles are bought either just before or just after a birth – with size 1 teats. For decades, NUK has studied the shape of teats in every detail, developed it further and continuously adjusted it based on the latest medical findings. This has resulted in the healthy training of all mouth functions and as natural a sensation as possible. Hygiene Talk to your child: explain why it is time to give up using a soother – for example, because your child is getting too big or because the soother is old and tired. For decades, NUK has studied the shape of teats and soothers in every detail, developed it further and continuously adjusted it based on the latest medical findings. This has resulted in the healthy training of all mouth functions and as natural a sensation as possible. HygieneThe abbreviation, BPA stands for Bisphenol A and it is a raw material used in the manufacture of the synthetic material, polycarbonate (PC). BPA is “embedded” in the material and is firmly bound in it. Glass is the classic material for drinking containers – and also for baby foods. Today, with its higher scratch resistance, glass is a particularly resiliant and environmentally-friendly material. NUK only offers products made from borosilicate glass, which, with its cross-linked surface structure is particularly heat-resistant. Thanks to the high level of transparency of the glass you can easily see if there is any milk or other residue still there when cleaning the bottles. The high heat-resistance means you can clean the glass baby bottles as often as you like and even boil them. And should you give older children tea or juice in them, then the glass of the bottle does not discolour. NUK Baby Bottles are made from different materials. The greatest tangible difference is between glass and plastic – both materials are very suitable for baby formula and breast milk. Here you can find some points to help you make your decision.

The main difference is that latex is a natural product whereas silicone is synthetically produced. As a result, both materials have their own special characteristics. NUK offers baby bottles made out of the synthetic materials polypropylene (PP) andpolyamides (PA). They are particularly light and nearly unbreakable and with that, optimally-suited for use both at home and out and about. Knowing exactly when baby's feed is at the right temperature can be a challenge. NUK First Choice+ baby bottles now have a built-in Temperature Control indicator located on the bottle's graduation marks that changes colour from blue to white when the bottle's contents are too hot (above the optimal feeding temperature of 37 degrees), so you can be sure your baby's milk is always at a comfortable drinking temperature. This bottle is the ideal choice for combined feeding* as the NUK orthodontic teat simulates the shape of a mother's nipple during breastfeeding which gives baby a natural and familiar drinking sensation. The innovative teat also minimises colics** thanks to the NUK Anti-Colic Air System that ensures a natural flow to help your baby drink without swallowing air.of mothers were satisfied or very satisfied with the NUK First Choice Clinic Teat. The majority of nurses would like to continue working with the new teats. Polyamide are synthetic materials with a high level of transparency, which it retains by being chemical-resistant – discolouring and clouding are a thing of the past. Polyamide is BPA-free, but not suitable for the microwave however. N.B: All NUK Soothers have an AIR SYSTEM. A vent allows air to escape from the baglet when it is pressed together by the palate. This means that the teat always fits a child´s mouth perfectly. During boiling, water can get into the baglet through the vent. New in the NUK range – NUK Temperature Control to help parents achieve the optimum temperature for more safety when feeding their baby NUK Silicone Teats are made from a high-quality synthetic material. The clear silicone material is easily cleaned and highly heat-resistant. Even direct sunlight or edible fats do not age the material. Silicone teats have a neutral taste and smell. However, silicone is slightly less bite and tear-resistant than latex. For this reason, NUK also uses firmer, more bite-resistant silicone material for the size 3 teat. Should a silicone teat have even small bite marks or other signs of damage, it should be replaced immediately. For reasons of hygiene and safety, it is generally recommended to replace all teats – whether latex or silicone – after 1-2 months.
