I also heated my kydex up and bent it inwards very slightly and it improved the rigidity a little bit as well. But neither were needed for proper function. I know your probably still prototyping this for a custom request but I would be ecstatic if you were eventually able to source proper tightening knobs and injection mold the adapter pieces. If you have normal ‘bloke’ fingers by the time you have squashed your cheek onto your fingers it roughly equates to 12mm or 1/2”. If it’s spot on then get the 1/2” riser. If it’s still too high then get a 1/4” one. Mine was a perfect 1/2” and with the 1/2” riser clipped on it’s probably the best cheek weld of any of my rifles.
