Tier 3 (T3)– Allocated bottles that are somewhat easy to find and could be found on a shelf in most cases. Its production process differs from other small batches because it is a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon. Interesting Facts A is for “ Average or Suggested Retail Price.” This is the price that you’ll typically see a bottle listed for if it is on the shelf. Neither bottle has an age statement, but Small Batch is thought to be over 7 years old and Single Barrel is thought to be 7-12 years old.

It’s a good deal of whiskey, given its quality at a budget price, which we don’t expect from EH Taylor bourbons. Today, the E.H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon is a popular choice among whiskey enthusiasts, and it continues to be produced with the same dedication to quality and tradition that Colonel Taylor himself would have expected. Itt is an affordable and accessible option for those looking to try a high-quality bourbon.E.H Taylor Jr was instrumental in putting up the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897, and his innovative techniques still live to this day. How It’s Made This uncompromising legacy has been implemented in all BT products, including the production of this EH Taylor Small Batch. SPECIAL AWARD - Best of Category/Division/Show Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition Average prices are based on Drizly. Prices may vary in local liquor shops. Compared to Other Bourbons Weller Antique 107 Released in 2011, this super rare bourbon is a hat tip to the Colonel who pioneered the souring method used in making this juice. The Colonel would make sour mash bourbon over the course of three to five days by keeping cooked mash in a “drop tub.” While being held within said tub, the PH would lower, readying it for fermentation and distillation. Plan to find a local banker to front you a loan if you want to find you way into one of these bottles. I’ve literally heard of folks trading automobiles for these bottles….plain nuts!

Tier 1 (T1)– These are the hardest to find allocated bottles and the ones that command the highest secondary prices. E.H. Taylor Small Batch does not bear an age statement, but because it's a Bottled-in-Bond spirit, we know it's at least 4 years old, but more likely between 6 and 10 years old based on flavor profile and price. The whiskey isn't typically associated with youthful bourbon flavors, and Buffalo Trace's namesake bourbon is a blend of 6-plus-year-old whiskey, lending credence to the idea that E.H. Taylor Small Batch spends longer than 4 years in a barrel. What does E.H. Taylor Small Batch taste like? A bottle’s suggested retail price may be sold below that price but it almost always is sold above that price. At what point do you know when to buy and when to walk away?E.H. Taylor is generally heavily allocated (how much so depends on your region) and coveted by the bourbon community. Colonel Taylor was a perfectionist and was known for his innovative techniques and high standards of production. He was instrumental in the passage of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which ensured that the bourbon was of a consistent quality and met specific legal requirements.
