service since early this year. Warner deferred releasing the film on UHD until triple-layer BD-100s became available, so that the 145-minute feature Finally, this disc passed what I have come to consider my personal penultimate test of a video disc. I completely forgot I was watching TV and became totally immersed in the film. My "sampling" for the new 4K release of Goodfellas stretched all the way to the end credits. This is a bravura piece of filmmaking, and a truly fantastic presentation. Audio Commentary with Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Nicholas Pileggi, Michael Ballhaus, Frank Vincent, Thelma Schoonmaker, Barbara De Fina, and Henry Hill This new version is something of a landmark for Warner Brothers, because Goodfellas is its first "deep catalog" release in what

release overall is that The Film Vault, probably due to licensing issues with Warner, has included the way old 1080 presentation that Ken For more about GoodFellas and the GoodFellas Blu-ray release, see GoodFellas Blu-ray Review published by Michael Reuben on April 27, 2015 where this Blu-ray release scored 4.5 out of 5. Henry Hill might be a small time gangster, who may have taken part in a robbery with Jimmy Conway and Tommy De Vito, two other gangsters who might have set their sights a bit higher. His two partners could kill off everyone else involved in the robbery, and slowly start to think about climbing up through the hierarchy of the Mob. Henry, however, might be badly affected by his partners' success, but will he consider stooping low enough to bring about the downfall of Jimmy and Tommy? If people refused to buy because of the price premium they would be forced to lower prices. With you happy to pay you’re playing into their hands. Plot: What’s it about? Video: How’s it look? Audio: How’s it sound? Supplements: What are the extras? The Bottom Line Plot: What’s it about?Again, I haven't seen the disc as I don't own it (hush, Goodfella's ain't anywhere near the top of my fave gangster pics....... ) and I'm not trying to rag on the kit involved (again, the above review is massively favourable). But with these new UHDs the benefits have the potential to be so incremental that we could very well have such small issues like the calibration on a specific TV being the difference between a 'good disc' and a 'not so good disc'. The reality is that it's a different beast entirely. Created to show off 4k and specifically HDR, which the purveyors of 4k would have us believe is a necessary part of the program. Now, silently commemorating it's 26th Anniversary, Warner Bros. has raised the bar from Blu-ray to 4k UHD, along with HDR, and the result is both interesting, as well as telling, as it gives us a very good idea of precisely how good the last BD release was. Public Enemies: The Golden Age of the Gangster Film– The most robust supplement on the disc is this 106 minute documentary. While not focusing on Goodfellas per se, but rather the genre as a whole with emphasis on some of the James Cagney films.
