Description

It’s not a bad life, but when one of the group members goes astray, it sets in motion a series of events that will threaten to destroy the delicate balance that has kept Dave and his clan off the radar. While the National Guard, local authorities and all humanitarian efforts were focused on the coastal regions, 326 employees of FantasticLand were left to their own devices.

Presented as a fact-finding investigation and a series of first-person interviews, FantasticLand pieces together the grisly series of events. It's actually considered an equal and marginally cheaper alternative to DisneyWorld and located in Florida. A hurricane is coming to wipe out most of Florida and the park is going to be isolated and half destroyed from the storm. They took it and made their territory as scary as possible and spread rumors of horrific actions to keep the other tribes away. but when there's so much consensual sex going on, you cannot use stds and babies as a reason to veto rape.

By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. also, the warthogs, which are the absolute coolest pair in the book and were very wisely left mysterious, so their chilling ways were much more effective. in a normal day that's practical, but when a hurricane hits Florida, trapping those employees in the park for weeks, that turned the groups into tribes fighting for their own survival (and enjoyment for some. They were really a group of stoners who used the Halloween decorations for the park to trick the other factions into leaving them alone, making this an Invoked trope. Crazy-Prepared: FanatasticFun Inc, the company that owns the park, took measures for a disaster that included enough food for 300 people and shelters that could take a nuke.

I-dunno-what-I-just-read-but-I'm-pretty-sure-I-loved-it stars for the audiobook version narrated by all-stars Luke Daniels and Angela Dawe. But when a hurricane ravages the Florida coast and isolates the park, the employees find it anything but fun. It felt like the gore was used as a crutch, and some things would've been more effective and believable had he played more with the unreliability of the narrators. Then within an hour of leaving the shelters they group up and start doing heinous shit to each other, like cutting off hands. Kids are getting their hands cut off but let me just mention how annoyed Sally is because she can't check Facebook".

Daniels and Dawe do phenomenal voice work here -- each of the characters had a unique voice and and they were just so darn real! This book is about as unputdownable as they come and I'm grateful for the long thanksgiving weekend that allowed me to run through this without having to stop for work or other inconveniences. Minutes into the Future: A book published in October 2016 that talks about events taking place in late-September to early November 2017. Bockoven's writing shows real talent and skill -- I'll definitely be adding his next offering, Pack, to my watch list.Hormone-Addled Teenager: A lot of the employees paired up during the early days trapped in the park but stopped at actually having sex due to having no protection. It's the story of FantasticLand, a theme park built by its eccentric creator as a rival to the Disney and Universal resorts. Utterly horrifying and impossible to put down—for a dozen reasons, but most of all, for how plausible the whole thing feels. A few hundred park employees of FantasticLand have been contracted to ride out the storm within the park's confines to guard against looting. Told in a series of interviews, there were plenty of characters to go around and the narration really added depth to the interview style format.
