Description

I have a Casio CDP-S100 in another city and comparing previous recordings I can see the velocity levels are significantly lower with the PX-S1000. LAG T88A, Breedlove Signature Concert Copper E, Breedlove Pursuit Exotic Concert CE Koa, Walden D640T, Tanglewood TRSJ-VS, Vintage VE2000GG. If you can’t connect with an instrument’s sound, it’s going to be tough to connect with the instrument as a whole. When used in an intimate setting, the tone quality and power of the onboard speakers leaves out the need for an external amplifier - perfect for easy transport from venue to venue. Would you NOT recommend that they regularly get used for casual practice on a table/bed/etc because of the downward facing speakers (or would the sound still be good enough for solo practice)?

Using this mode, you can create some rich, beautiful combinations such as piano layered with strings, piano with pad, bass with cymbal, etc. I also found it easier to play near the back of the keys on the FP-10, so the pivot point seems to a bit longer as well.

Also available in polished white (RPB-400PW), satin black (RPB-400BK), satin white (RPB-400WH), and rosewood (RPB-400RW). I found interesting what you wrote about the Sharp paper, I found them on auction on TAS and saved it, just in case I could not get mine's, but let's us know if the Sharp rolls do fit in the Casios' printer. While there is a nice texture on the keys, all in all, the PHA4 action is undoubtedly a better key action, both on paper and in practice. Having recently come into possession of one of these printers, I'm on the look out for some of the paper rolls.

You might wonder whether it’s worth paying more money for the FP-30 or the FP-10 will do considering they share the same keyboard and sound engine. However, it’s important to mention that unlike its competitors, the FP-10 comes with a few extra elements (string resonance, key off resonance) added to the piano sound, making it more realistic, even though those things are quite subtle. At the heart of the FP-10 is Roland’s famous SuperNATURAL sound engine, which you’ll find in pretty much all Roland digital pianos these days. The FP10 is supplied with a plastic sustain footswitch, but this can be upgraded to the feel of a traditional acoustic piano pedal experience by purchasing the Roland DP10 pedal. Above the keys you’ll find names of all the built-in sounds that show you which key you need to press while holding the Function button to get to the needed sound. This keyboard offers a response and feel of an acoustic grand, so you can have that authentic feel with your portable piano. But the chart is vague, and I think USB audio may be referring to recording audio onto a USB flash drive (which would be USB-to-device), as opposed to communicating audio and MIDI both over USB to an attached computer (which would be USB-to-Host).
