Zo weet je goed hoe iedereen over bepaalde situaties denkt en wat ze ook hebben gedaan in een bepaalde situatie. His recklessness on the hospital roof has given him a reputation for rule-breaking and risk-taking, but does Joe have more to hide? But when he attempted to make a move on her, confessing his love, she rebuffed him, telling him that it was never a competition between him and Joe, and that she only loved her husband.

A review of the TV series in The Independent states "The dialogue is far too flimsy to effectively gloss over anything; plot holes fall out the characters’ mouths with a clang" but does admit to it being 'strangely compelling'. Consequently, when the challenges Joe faces in this series start to come between them, the whole life she has built feels under threat. The homicide cop, Devin Juhle, is stereotypical (I've made up my mind so don't confuse me with the facts! He even became an online hero after rescuing a young patient who was ready to jump from the tenth floor of the hospital where he works. But as the investigation into the young woman’s death gathers pace, we start to ask, do we know the real Joe, or does he have a secret life? The story progresses quite well as do most of Lescroart's books, a lot of character development, excellent court room scenes, believable dialogue.

Her favourite TV programmes include Inside No 9, American Horror Story, Stranger Things and Black Mirror but she is also partial to a quiz show or a bit of Say Yes to the Dress! In it, we see Aidan Turner's character in his work and home life, as he slowly starts to delve deeper and deeper into what's happened as he gets involved in Catherine's case. Speaking of Joe's early onset Parkinson’s Aidan said: “When we meet Joe, he has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.Despite Bobby trying to convince him that the murders had wiped the slate clean, DJ finally realized Joe was right and released Joe from the chair, intending to take him outside and use him so that the police wouldn’t open fire on them. The pace of the book was great I never felt bored or unconnected, there was always something else grabbing my attention.
