Shown Their Work: The author puts a lot of research into reconstructing the series' dinosaurs, right down to how the bone structure of the dinosaurs would have allowed them to sit down. Characters who are veteran Dino-keepers and Dino-doctors are constantly making observations about how their charges move, sit, and behave. Research consultant Shin-ichi Fujiwara is even listed as a co-author, and each chapter ends with Fujiwara's insight into the various details considered in depicting the dinosaurs of Enoshima Dinoland. Also, the dinosaurs here are shown to be animals. Some eat meat, yes, but they are more than monsters - they are shy, or bond with carers. They develop gout because of kidey failure or have special dietary needs. This makes the dinosaurs not less interesting, but more interesting, as they are as complex and fascinating as current life on earth. Seven Seas will release Mado Nozaki's Titan novel under its Airship imprint in September. The company describes the novel:

Fluffy the Terrible: Some of the dinosaurs have surprisingly cute-sounding names, like Yuki the Giganotosaurus, Hanako the Tyrannosaurus and Ichigo the Allosaurus. In this case it serves to convey their status as just animals, not monsters. Ikuhana launched the manga in Hakusensha's Rakuen ( Le Paradis) magazine in February 2018. The first volume shipped in March 2021. Gyaru Girl: Asami, the girl who takes a liking to Masaru the Triceratops, is of the yamanba fashion.DINOSAURS ARE ALIVE! In 1946, a remote island was discovered where dinosaurs never went extinct. Through breeding and genetic manipulation, dinosaur populations increased and dino-mania reached a fever pitch worldwide...until a certain terrible incident occurred. Afterward, dinosaur reserves like Enoshima Dinoland fell on hard times. Enter Suma Suzume, a kindhearted rookie dino-keeper! Can she be the one to save Dinoland from extinction?

Nozaki's Babylon novels inspired a television anime that premiered in October 2019, and also inspired a manga adaptation that also ran in 2019. Nov 20 From the U.S. to Japan, You Can Control the Life-Size Moving Gundam from the Comfort of Your Own Home Artistic License – Animal Care: Dinoland is apparently struggling to keep up with its bills so much that hiring even one more employee risks pushing them into bankruptcy, but it has at least eleven elephant-sized (or larger) animals (several of which are carnivores, which are far more expensive to feed than herbivores) and relatively few small ones. Realistically, it would be a massive drain for a small zoo to keep so many huge animals rather than downsizing to smaller species. Although it could be argued that non-avian dinosaurs would be less expensive to keep than birds and mammals, due to being mesothermic and thus requiring less food, but a small zoo being able to keep several of the larger ones would still be a bit of a stretch.Friend to All Children: Suzume. In her Establishing Character Moment, she consoles some schoolchildren terrified by the zoo's Giganotosaurus and helps them gain a new perspective on dinosaurs, in contrast to the other zoo staff, who find themselves unsure what to do with the frightened kids. Artistic License – Paleontology: Mostly averted. The dinosaurs are generally extremely accurate as to scientific thought in the 2020s regarding their appearance and behaviour, right down to the feathers on the ones you'd expect to have them. However, there are some minor things here and there. Despite being the smallest dinosaur park in Japan, Dinoland has the second-largest hadrosaur, and 3 out of the 4 largest megatheropods. sur un point tout personnel, le parc en question se trouve sur Enoshima, une île que j'ai visitée il y a des années avec mon frère et que j'avais adorée :)

Domesticated Dinosaurs: Dinosaurs are kept as attractions at zoos and animal sanctuaries like Enoshima Dinoland. Some dinosaurs like Sinornithomimus have even been bred for meat. A school group comes to Dinoland and they have a Giganotosaurus feeding show. The announcer, Kaidou-San compares how the teeth of Giganotosaurus are like knives, and this makes one of the children cry out of fear. Suma Suzume, a new dino-keeper, helps calm the child down and tells them how birds are dinosaurs. Kaidou-San shows Suma Suzume around Dinoland. Suma Suzume says how since the incident, there was a huge gap between humans and dinosaurs, and she wants to bridge that gap. In the first chapter, when Suzume arrives at the zoo, she comforts a group of schoolchildren scared by Enoshima Dinoland's Giganotosaurus by explaining how dinosaurs aren't all scary through pointing out that birds are also dinosaurs, establishing her primary characteristics - her passion for and knowledge in dinosaurs, her desire to help people understand and connect with dinosaurs better, and her general kind and helpful nature. Heartfelt Apology: Kaidou, feeling guilty for the suicide of Suzume's father, gives one to Suzume once he tells her of the infamous Ichigo incident. In a unique spin on the usual takes on these matters, she doesn't hold it against him in the least. Ridiculously Cute Critter: Benkei, the baby Troodon Suzume is temporarily charged with taking care of. Suzume can't help but be overwhelmed by how cute he is when she first sees him. However, it doesn't last, as Benkei proved quite the troublemaker. While the employees are discussing an upcoming shuffling of different exhibits, Suzume learns the guests will have access to interact with the Psittacosaurus roaming free through the park, and thinks about " Walking with Psittacos".

Dinosaur Sanctuary volume 4 was released in the month of April in Japan, and its English translation is scheduled to be released in March 2024. Dinosan, or Dinosaur Sanctuary, is a fairly new manga that I think should be getting some more attention.

I love how the dino's where portrayed and the people interacting with them. I also really liked that we get to see how the staff takes care of their dinosaurs. If you like those programs that show the behind the scene care of zoo animals you might enjoy this manga :D Seven Seas will release the first volume of Niiro Ikuhana's Imaginary manga in August. The company describes the manga: Extinct Animal Park: The eponymous Enoshima Dinoland is a small struggling zoo that hosts about two dozen species of dinosaur note technically nineteen non-avian dinosaurs, four pterosaur, and one plesiosaur, ranging from small herbivores to giant carnivores. The series focuses on the day-to-day business of running the place, which is not too different from what real-life zoos deal with when it comes to their animals. Dinosaur Sanctuary ( Japanese: ディノサン, Hepburn: Dinosan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Itaru Kinoshita, with Shin-ichi Fujiwara serving as research consultant. It began serialization in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic Bunch magazine in March 2021; as of April 2023, four volumes have been released.
