Description

While most wyrms are quite small, the giant ash wyrm ( Ophiosuchus cinereus) of South America is a notable exception. The surviving members of draconimorpha can be classified into 5 distinct clades: Thalattophidia (sea serpents), Ophiosuchoidea (wyrms), Volanosauria (wyverns), Therosuchia (Drakes) and Draconia (dragons). When born the young will stay with their mothers for 15 to 20 years although they will leave the nest as wyverns are nomadic.

This lavish volume from the pen of eminent dragonologist Dr Ernest Drake is the definitve guide to the world of dragonology. It includes a host of novelties such as old letters, magic dust, dragon scales, gems, spells in envelopes and booklets of riddles. What single gift once engrossed my three boys so much that they stopped opening Christmas presents -- I swear -- for a full 15 minutes? And when t'was done-not that t'was quite done-bit sad in the middle, I reckon, but that was all the better, like-they heaved en on to a timber-tug, and somebody lent en a team to draw it, and off he goos, bold as a lion. Focused on species from the obscure tree-climbing monkey dragon to the better-known wyvern and amphithere, each entry details size, shape, colouration, habitat, the appearance of eggs and young and (most important) form of attack.

Dragons can hypnotise large groups of individuals at one time, and the effects may last for some months, with the hypnotised person often found apparently carrying on their everyday life. Least his head was, but his neck and body-parts lay all along uo the hill, past the station, and he was tearing up the trees in Batworth Park with his tail. The series contains information on dragons, including information about how to befriend and protect them as well as an alphabet of the dragon language, ancient runes, and replica samples of Dragon Scales. Dragons have inhabited this planet for longer than humans and some are considerably more intelligent but over the last centuries their numbers have dwindled due to climate change, habitat destruction and direct cruelty to dragons.Baby dragons, known as “flaplings”, are actually born with a coat of coelofibers, but this is replaced by a covering of adult dragon scales roughly around the same time they begin to breathe fire. What's more, each package features an easy-to-assemble, lifelike model of a Frost Dragon with a 23-inch wingspan and movable wings!
