Jack lives in north London where he spends most of his time drinking peculiar teas and reading PG Wodehouse novels.

Ruby was born in an unspecified part of Africa, later ending up on display in the mall, where she met Ivan, Bob, and Julia. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Fun and totally grossed out with this absolutely terrific children’s book that has heart and warmth!

I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

I loved her work in the Aggie Morton series, and she brings the characters to life with her gorgeous artwork in this book. I may incorporate this as one of the books that I read to my students in the future, as it was one of those that will have you giggling, slight bursts of irritation, and then, the story redeems with a memorable ending. The three way chats, in which they are joined by other animals, about web spinning, themselves, other humans—are as often informative as amusing, and the whole tenor of appealing wit and pathos will make fine entertainment for reading aloud, too. The book includes illustrations that are really well done and that help to bring the characters and story even more to life.Ebenezer is quite cruel and morally grey, the beast is downright evil and Bethany is very badly behaved. The characters are fun and their developments is some of the best I have read in a Middle Grade book. Isabelle Follath is an illustrator who has worked in advertising, fashion magazines and book publishing, but her true passion lies in illustrating children’s books.

While Ebenezer wants to be rid of Bethany as quickly as possible the beast wants to delay in eating her and what happens next is a brilliant mix of silliness, funny moments and a few touching ones too. The debut novel from Meggitt-Phillips won’t be published by Egmont until 2021, but has already sparked interest from several suitors after debuting at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

That makes all the difference to Bethany, and she responds in kind (and probably ends up losing her definite article along the way). The digitally native, all year round, online literature and books festival, with new content released every week is a free-for-all-users festival. The story-line is also interesting and different where you really don’t know how Bethany will help Ebenezer and get rid of the Beast. When Ebenezer does nice things for her, extends her some courtesy—and inadvertently acts like a friend.
