You should aim to strike a balance between protecting yourself from the sun and getting enough vitamin D from sunlight. Our body creates vitamin D from direct sunlight on our skin when we're outdoors. From about late March to the end of September, most people should be able to get all the vitamin D they need from sunlight. We developed SunSeal in Australia, using a renowned testing company, and the long life of the film exceeded their expectations.’ SunSeal is unlike other sunscreens in that it is not absorbed into the skin. Instead, it binds to the skin cells on the surface of the skin and creates a protective micro barrier. This seals your natural skin from potential damage that the sun's harmful rays might cause. Sunseal acts like natural skin, but with SPF30 or SPF50+ protection. What are the benefits of Sunseal? Sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer. Most people think that it only happens abroad when it’s hot, but you can burn in the UK, even when it's cloudy. SunSeal is the ultimate sun protection product that is durable and effective. With its microskin technology, SunSeal makes it so you can get out and about in the sun, and not have to worry so much about skin damage from the sun.

SunSeal is safe for the whole family, including children over three, and sensitive skin types. It is not absorbed into the skin so it will not irritate. Expert view I used to use P20 50+ for long days out in the sun, either for cycling or some other sport but switched to this as it offered even longer protection and means I don't have to apply it everyday. I've had zero burn or even slight tanning with the 50+ version and found it to be very effective. At the core of SunSeal™ is the patented Microskin™ technology which raises the bar in what a sunscreen should do. Unlike other sunscreens on the market which are absorbed into the skin, SunSeal binds to the skin, effectively forming a protective ‘simulated second skin’ that is offers what we believe is the most durable sun protection available on the market today. SunSeal™ has been developed by Corium Health and is a true game changer for the global sunscreen market. Sunseal™ by Microskin™ is a sunscreen that comes in a spray-on form. It uses a unique technology that creates a protective barrier on the skin which can last up to 3 days. Unlike other sunscreens on the market which are absorbed into the skin, SunSeal™ by Microskin™ binds to the skin, effectively forming a protective, breathable, and waterproof ‘simulated second skin’ that offers what we believe is the most durable sun protection available on the market today.

No. It only comes as SPF50+ (and, next year, SPF30) and because the film remains on the skin for 72 hours, the UVA/B filters will prevent a deep tan, so it’s not likely to appeal to that consumer. Originating from Australia, SunSeal™ by Microskin™ redefines what sun protection should be, by offering what is the most durable, reliable sun protection available, anywhere. The original Microskin film has undergone extensive lab testing, proving its life even beyond 72 hours,’ says Pascoe.

The alcohol-based liquid gives off fumes that make my eyes water when I rub it on my face, but thankfully it only lasts a few seconds. It’s 8am in Majorca, the sun’s blazing and loungers are already festooned with towels. It feels strange not slathering on suncream before heading to the pool. We’re not a sunscreen company, we’re a medical company using our patented Microskin technology – the gold standard in simulated skin technology used by dermatologists worldwide – to make a sunscreen. The SunSeal film is unlikely to vanish Cinderella-style, but ‘responsibility’ is the watchword here. SunSeal is perfect for those family holidays and the height of summer hikes when you need ultimate protection from UV rays. However, you can still get burned even on a cloudy day in the UK, so you should still follow safety precautions. Sun Safety AdviceI’m not claiming this Majorcan experiment is a substitute for lab science but my own experience of SunSeal has been astounding. It's an SPF made with a ‘second skin’ film that’s proven to last for three whole days on the skin from just one application. However it’s very much SPF business as usual with my children, who scream and run as I aim a regular suncream in their direction. If I only had to endure this every three days instead of every three hours, I’d be delighted. It comes in an easy to use spray on liquid, which is transparent and non-greasy in its texture. Sunseal appears completely invisible on the skin, not leaving any residue. Once applied, you can forget it's there.

Microskin Technology

I’m fervently hoping it’s true because tomorrow I’m off to Majorca* to turn myself into a human guinea pig. It’s worth mentioning I’ve got pale, sizzle-prone skin that’s incapable of going brown without a bottle of St Tropez, so sun safety is something I'm pretty hot on.
