Step 4: Place the strip onto the inflated beach ball. Smooth out any bumps or creases with your fingers or a paintbrush. Repeat this step until the entire beach ball is covered with a layer of strips. For the second layer, place the strips horizontally and for the third layer, place the strips vertically. Alternating the direction of the strips will make the paper mache structure sturdier. hours of kid-free time to focus on your work (probably the hardest item to find on the list) Fold the sheet in half and lay out on the floor The rebellious Leia rose from an orphaned prisoner to a courageous space general and it is a beautiful and interesting journey. Again I laid down and had my husband fold the fabric to just above my ankles. If you want to make a hem here then be sure to cut it a bit longer than the desired final length. Going with my philosophy of not sweating the small stuff too much in making this costume, I decided it’d take me less time to cut the bottom carefully, than hem it up with tape. Ditto with the arm length, which I finalized before taping the inside seams so that I wouldn’t have to do one bit of extra work with the fabric tape. And since I only plan to wear this Halloween costume a couple times and mostly in the dark, I didn’t think anyone would notice (and in fact, no one has). Tape the arms and sides together Princess Leia, the iconic character from Star Wars is such a strong character that many women want to be like her – and sometimes the least one can do is try to emulate her clothes.

When I made my Endor commando and Rebel Briefing Leia my plan was of course to also make the full Leia Endor battle outfit, the only thing missing after all was the poncho. Well that was almost two years ago now, but I've finally made the poncho, or at least the fabric start. It also helped that I have around 20 meters of a sturdy cotton that I need to get into more managable piecec, it's the table cloth from my sister's wedding. The costume has since become very controversial. Many consider it as a representation of the objectification of women in popular culture. Some others consider the outfit as a symbol of Leia’s strength and defiance in the face of adversity. Step 6: Cut holes on the top and bottom of the ball droid. For the top, measure the width around your child’s chest and cut a hole slighter larger than that measurement. For the bottom, the hole should be wide enough so your child has enough leg room to walk. This iconic costume is often associated with Princess Leia Organa; so if you want to dress like Princess Leia, make this gown. This gown with a flowing, pure white silhouette is worn by Princess Leia in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) for a ceremony scene . Snowsuit (Hoth outfit)

Brave. Fearless. Friend of the Ewoks. In Return of the Jedi and the Forces of Destiny animated series, Princess Leia Organa is a leader who isn’t afraid to jump into action. Her Endor commando gear is a classic costume that can be made on the cheap in one day. You’ll be able to whip up this costume faster than an Ewok on a speeder bike! Princess Leia wears this suit throughout the film, from the time the Rebels arrive on Hoth to the time they escape the planet. She also wears it during the Battle of Hoth. The white vest is worn with high boots and braids wrapped around her head. Step 3: Sew the gold lining to the blue fabric at the top and sides of the cape. Leave the bottom of the cape and lining open. This step took a few tries to get right. I didn’t want to over cut and end up with super tight sleeves and a snug body shape. Leia’s Endor Commando outfit consists of camouflage poncho, blue pants and braids wrapped around her head and is prominently featured in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.” As a key member of the Rebel Alliance’s strike team, Leia dons this attire during the mission to destroy the shield generator on the forest moon of Endor, which protects the second Death Star.

This step is much easier said than done, and was by far the hardest part of this DIY No Sew Easy Princess Leia costume. I admit I literally sweated a bit during this stage, until I realized that no one was going to see a slightly crooked or rumpled seam.

Poncho has a blotchy camouflage pattern, with no streaks or lines, and painted with large overlapping blotches of brown, light green, dark green, and cream or tan. Finally when I felt it was not too baggy but also not yet too tight, I made a half inch diagonal cut into the armpit area to allow room for a small hem. Cut the bottom length and the final cut of the arm length After the rough cut, but before the final cut of the sleeves Step 2: Use tailor’s chalk to make an arc at the bottom corner (on the fold) and a larger arc from the bottom to the top of the fabric. (See picture.) Cut out both arcs. Repeat this step with your gold fabric lining. Pin the lining to the cape and trim the bottom of the gold fabric making it a few inches shorter than the blue fabric. Hem the bottoms of the lining and cape, if you’d like.

This is where you really have to let your perfectionist instincts go. It doesn’t matter if the seam here gets a little messed up, so long as the sleeve is entirely attached. Please trust me: no one will notice! Woman costuming as Princess Leia ; embed from https://www.deviantart.com/glittersweet/art/Leia-84509254 Medium gray vest with cap sleeves. Vest is made of a light to medium-weight matte fabric (cotton or cotton blend recommended).I mean look at how well my Tunic blends in. Those pesky Storm Troopers will never be able to find me. And if they do I know a cute Ewok who would be more than happy to help me out. Hooded poncho made of medium-weight tan or beige matte fabric (cotton or cotton blend recommended). Princess Leia wears her most iconic of all costumes, the Classic white dress with space buns in the very first Star Wars movie released in 1977, titled “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.” The gown that Princess Leia wears in Star Wars is commonly known as her “Princess Leia white gown” or “Princess Leia’s white dress.” It was made of white crepe-de chine fabric and was designed by John Mollo. Step 1: Cut off the top portion of the half foam ball to make a flat surface instead of a rounded one.
