The manga adaptation of the light novel: with art by Tesshin Azuma. It was serialised in Hakusensha's Manga Park and released under their Young Animal Comics imprint from May 2021. ayako basically ships miu (her niece/adopted daughter) with her tutor takumi. that being said, miu is 15 and a high school student, whereas takumi is 20 and in college. yes, it's a very wholesome ship (childhood friends) and she mostly imagines them getting married sometime in the future, but not exactly the age where I'd want to be pushing a 5 year age gap (15 to 20 is SO much different than, say, 20 to 25). Breaking the Fourth Wall: In a scene early in the manga, Miu wants to have some wine, which Ayako vehemently objects to...since you can't show underage characters drinking in manga. The most unique part of this relationship is that there is a very significant age gap and that the way these characters met involved 1 character going through various stages of early mental development/maturity while the other character witnessed this growth but goes through completely different life stages. IMO the author glosses over the difficulty that would arise from such a disparity and instead tries to turn this into your average romcom while finding every unrealistic support structure to force this to happen.
