In the film series, Fregley is portrayed by Grayson Russell in the first three installments, and by Christian Convery in the 2021 animated film. Rowley's immaturity and naivety occasionally leave him susceptible to Greg's manipulation, but his charming and innocent nature makes him popular, particularly among his fellow students, especially the girls. Their friendship, while sometimes challenging, holds genuine affection. In the movie adaptations, their bond is even more developed compared to the books, though they remain true friends in both versions. A DIARY OF A WIMPY KID STORY that will have you rolling with laughter, from number one bestselling author Jeff Kinney! In the online book, Rowley is said to own a PlayStation with 42 games. However, in the movie, Rowley is shown to have a Wii, meaning that he probably upgraded his console. Given estimates made based off of illustrations of him, Rowley Jefferson is most likely between 4' 11" (149.86 cm) and 5' 1" (154.94 cm) tall. However, this is only conjecture, as his height has never been stated definitively within the series.

Maddox Selsam is a boy who lives in the middle of the woods, who only appears in Double Down. Maddox is not allowed to have any screen time and does not have a TV at his house. He enjoys playing with his Lego and practicing his violin. He met Greg in Double Down when he found Greg's balloon for the Balloon Brigade at his school. Susan only likes him because he doesn't have electronics in his house and wants Maddox to be a role model for Greg; however, Maddox was rude to Greg. She feels disappointed that he and Greg didn't "hit it off", although she knew she had made a mistake about Maddox, she chose to double down and be disappointed in her son. Abraham "Abe" Hall is a minor character who is only mentioned in the original book. Prior to the events of the original book, Hall was the last person in Westmore Middle School to get the original Cheese Touch that originated with Darren Walsh, failing to pass it on to anybody else, as no one would even come near him for the rest of the school year. During the summer, Abe moved away to California and took the Cheese Touch with him, ending its presence at school. Darren and Marcus Woodley are two brothers who always get into fights. They first appeared in The Last Straw, where they went camping with Frank. Marcus wets his pants after getting hit in the stomach with a football by Darren. Marcus bites Darren for laughing at him, resulting in Darren having to go to the emergency room. The brothers return in Big Shot, where they play on a basketball team with Greg. Joe Heffley has three children, who all appear to be a bit older than Manny, and are Greg's cousins. Their names and ages are unknown. They all call Frank "Aunt Fwank"; Frank believes that Joe specifically told them to call him that. He appears in all of the books and all of the movies, and the online version as well, to date, but he only made a small appearance in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Deep End' Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Big Shot and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Diper Överlöde.

In the film series, Frank is portrayed by Steve Zahn in the first three films, Tom Everett Scott in The Long Haul, and Chris Diamantopoulos in the animated films. Darren Walsh is a minor character who is only mentioned in the original book. He is the boy who starts the Cheese Touch game in Westmore Middle School after intentionally touching a piece of cheese in the school's playground wherein everyone starts running away and avoiding him, becoming an outcast until he passes it to the next student. Franklin Wayne "Frank" Heffley Jr. is depicted to be Greg's overreactive but well-meaning father. He is about 42 years old and is interested in U.S. history, with his replica of a Civil War battlefield serving as a recurring plot point in the series. [2] In the books, Frank despises Rowley, [2] and does not appreciate Greg's skill at video games. He is also shown to loathe heavy metal [1] and adolescents. [3] Frank tries to toughen Greg up and threatens to send him to a military academy in The Last Straw, although ultimately this does not come to fruition, much to Greg's relief. [3] However, Greg and Frank grow together in Dog Days, despite a brief period when Frank does not speak to Greg after almost getting arrested and going to jail. Get ready for a whole new look into Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid! Introducing the newest Wimpy Kid author—Rowley Jefferson! Charlie has appeared in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Last Straw, Dog Days, The Ugly Truth, and Cabin Fever. Loretta Heffley [ edit ]

Fregley Allen (known as Fregly in the online book) is Greg's acquaintance and neighbor noted for his many odd or disgusting eccentricities. He has been known to perplex others with his behavior (for example, exclaiming "Juice! Juice!" when he needs to use the bathroom) and does not have any known friends. Greg has been forced to hang around with Fregley on several occasions, to his chagrin or aggravation. It has been mentioned that Fregley is prohibited from eating sugar by his parents, and the consumption of it in large quantities will send him into hysterical, uncontrollable frenzies. This occurs in the first book when he eats Greg's jelly beans. In the film series, Manny is portrayed by Connor and Owen Fielding in the first three films, Wyatt and Dylan Walters in The Long Haul, [ citation needed] and Gracen Newton in the animated films. It is never revealed what country Rowley went to on his trip to South America in the book series, but the online book states that he went to Brazil. It is said in the first film that Rowley went to Guatemala. He is often seen as an anti-hero/antagonist in the book series, but is a true hero in the movies. Rowley usually gets blamed for Greg's mischievous pranks. Despite his idiotic behavior, Rowley always wishes the best for everyone, and is a very nice, thoughtful and innocent kid. The character appears in the online book wherein he is renamed as Darnell Washington and his manner of starting the Cheese Touch is that of him tripping over and accidentally touching the cheese.
