The Chelsea outbreak spreads farther and becomes very dangerous, but Lockwood’s agency is still not asked to help. P I’m sure this will change over time and until we get there I’ll just collect every little snippet I can get. I'm so glad that today's kids have this kind of amazing writing and story-telling to read instead of some cheesy Goosebumps books (that while fun lack the depth of story telling and characterization we get here). We already made his acquaintance in “The Whispering Skull” but we never learned his name until now and I gotta say I’m already very curious about him.

Secrets followed Lockwood about like the flapping of his coat, and it was nice to be close enough to feel them brush against me too. Steve Rotwell kills one of the (human) attackers, while Lockwood stops another who was about to kill Penelope Fittes.I enjoyed it so much, I hope there will be yet another book soon to follow in this fabulously told series. Book two further expanded on the overall world and increased my appreciation for several characters.

She comes across as a bit petulant at times, but considering she's a teenager it was actually pretty believable. Surely this is the perfect chance for them to show once and for all that they're actually the best in town? The time/setting is still off-putting - everything feels really steampunk-y, to the point where I had to keep reminding myself that it was taking place in modern day. Stroud is a brilliant author; although these books are aimed at younger readers, adults will find much to enjoy. So the boys decide to bring in a secretary, to help deal with the administration (and the cleaning, to be honest).The elderly business owners don’t want to allow them in the house, but Lockwood charms them into opening their doors.
