I’d actually not told the girls were we getting the Twisty Girlz to review, so they were pretty happy when the parcel landed. We were out for the day, so had to promise we could open them up when home. We really like the Twisty Petz from Spinmaster and was excited to see that they have expanded their range to include the Twisty Girlz. The first thoughts we had were how would a girl transform into a bracelet? Well, we were very excited to find out! If you don’t know about the Twisty Petz/Girlz here is a little more info. What are the Twisty Girlz?

It was easy to transform the Twisty Girlz. My 4 year old did need a little help but her older sister was fine and could do alone. They are quite therapeutic to mess around with and hold. My girls did this loads with the Twisty Petz. Best friends forever: With two Twisty Girlz BFFs you can mix and match with the mystery pet. Add their two unique charms to any bracelet or ring combination for extra fashion fun.The girls have played with their Twisty Girlz lots and I was quite fond of them too!The dolls look pretty cool and I love jewellery too, the bracelets are fab. This is a great toy for a younger child, and you can add more to your collection with the little girl characters, Magic Mansion and Dance studio as well as the other 4 pairs of characters to collect in this range, to name a few. They are pretty simple! I did find the Twisty Pets a little hard to make into the animal but even I had no issues with the Twisty Girlz. The instructions are really easy to follow and the diagrams are simple and clear. Included is a leash to connect the doll to the pet. The dols will transform into your bracelet and the secret pet into a blingy ring (just pull the head and tail) with the pet leash turning into a hand chain piece of jewellery. Where a failure does not amount to a major failure, Mr Toys is entitled to choose between providing you with a repair, replacement or other suitable remedy.

My 3 year old son loves to roll balls and therefore the characters along and pretends that they are travelling around, before transforming them and playing with them in their animal form. So you have two modes of play. They have had had heavy duty testing believe me with the constant rolling into furniture and skirting boards (what chipped paint?!), and so far there is no sign of damage to the toys at least so these are good quality and sturdy. For me, I do wish this was less focused on the pink end of the market as it is a toy that anyone can play with; it is a lovely concept as kids love to roll things. These fashionable dolls transform from a cute girl into a bracelet that you can wear. Each BFF features a different outfit, cool hairstyle and unique charm. Open up the mystery pet carrier to reveal the adorable secret pet and you could find a unicorn, terrier pup, pony and more. Then, use the lead to attach your doll and pet together.With each of your Twisty Girlz you get a mystery pet in a little box! My eldest got a unicorn and my middley a cat. These can easily be transformed into a ring or pet. You can also connect to your Twisty Girl with a leash, which is included.

I’m not sure my girls would wear the pet as a ring, as seemed to prefer to play with it more but this will be an individual preference. They are really attractive and vibrant, with stylish clothes and accessories. I think kids will be drawn to immediately. I like how you can wear as a bracelet but they are easy to play with as dolls too. You do simply just twist at the torso and your Twisty Girl lengthens. You then clip the end to your Girl’z head. And voila a bracelet!

The manufacturers recommended age for this toy is 5-12 years, but personally I would go a little lower as my 3 year old did get a lot out of playing with them, but he has older siblings and loves imaginative play with characters. I also think that 12 is a little ambitious. I would say ages 3 up until 7 would be the ideal range to get the most out of this toy,(Editor’s note – this is the reviewer’s opinion) possibly 8, but older children may need the building play sets to really move their play to the next level. Unlike my three year old who is delighted to just roll them around and repeatedly “wake them up”. What I especially like is that your child could wear these toys when going on a day trip, play with them in the car or even at a restaurant then wear them home again thus removing the need for a toy bag! They have great appeal as a travel toy, and as a small fidget toy. They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays.
