However, spending time with Nell is making him feel less alone and that his life isn’t as bad as it is and they even enter a relationship of sorts. Generally speaking, fiction authors may consciously and deliberately choose to go this route because REALISTIC scenarios (real-life events) are usually not so interesting. Wow I did NOT know that she had another book coming out besides We Come Apart, which I still haven’t read, whoops.

Moonrise reached The New York Times Best Seller list for children's chapter books, holding the number two spot for two weeks. I firmly believe that the state should not play God and decide that someone should be sentenced to die for their crimes. I really enjoyed reading this book and soon got into the flow of reading from the different perspectives. Two unlikely but resilient friends yearn to know who they really are in this sensitively told novel in verse. There is Joe who may be too forgiving, according to some of the other characters in the book, but is also willing to do whatever it takes to have a roof over his head and food in his belly. However, a reviewer for Kirkus Reviews criticized the characters' confusing names and the writing style. The main character of this book is Joe Moon, who is just 7 years old when the book begins with a flashback.

New relationships with Wakeling locals, all of whom have an attachment to the prison, allow Joe a retreat from the heaviness of his thoughts and room to recognize important truths: %E2%80%9CWe aren%E2%80%99t the worst things we did / or the worst things that happen to us. The book received mostly positive comments from reviews published in Booklist and Horn Book Review, which praised the plot and cliffhanger ending. Someone, like Ed on death row would only have time to look back, to ponder, to regret, to be grateful for, but knowing your remaining years would be placed behind bars would be a hard pill to swallow, but Ed embraces his family and those final few moments with love and humility.

In the previous book in the series, Midnight, StarClan, the warrior cats' ancestors, sent four cats (one from each Clan—Brambleclaw, Crowpaw, Feathertail, and Tawnypelt) on a quest. He's overly idealistic, but that's actually refreshing, and he does seem to really care about making the world a better place.

Once again, Crossan's free verse form is breathtakingly powerful - always the right word, in the right place, at the right time. The Moon and its mysteries have captivated the Stavenger family, and it will continue to exert its pull upon subsequent generations. It’s a breezy style that belies the serious topics tackled as much as it does the care and craft that goes into writing the verse in the first place, because Moonrise is definitely not afraid to address those big issues.

However, their plan to poison Sharptooth goes awry, as he swats the rabbit they used to bait him aside and goes after Crowpaw instead.Money is tight for Angela as Aunt Karen has moved out and she is having to pay the full rent, meaning it will take her longer to save money to travel to Kirkland. With the exception of a disused mine, the forest in which the cats live is based largely on the New Forest. Moonrise is no short tale, at six hundred pages it uses long term relationships, in both personal and business terms, to propel a non-stop page turner.
