For a young couple in church who had their first child, it was a no-brainer which book we would give their new born son to tell him of Jesus! Children are saturated with a culture of performance from a young age, it's refreshing to have a book that simply deals with the incredible love and grace of our Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

The earth was filled with noisy noises - growling and gobbling and snapping and snorting and happy skerfuffling. Or the time, after spending the night in a brothel, I tore the city gates from their hinges and carried them off? There are also multiple pages where the lines of text overlap, making it *completely* impossible to read. As a child, even though I was a Christian, I grew up thinking the Bible was filled with rules you had to keep (or God wouldn't love you) and with heroes setting examples you had to follow (or God wouldn't love you).I love this book, and those words about it are amazing not just for children, but and essencialy for all of us. Some commentators have mentioned that this book papers over sin and disobedience but it deals brilliantly with the worst consequence of sin in the first story, namely how it separated us from God. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. I also own the Big Picture Story Bible and I love having the combination of the two as this minimises gaps.

She’s almost 9 now and she read this book voraciously cover to cover in just a few days and keeps it on the breakfast table to read with some of her favorites each morning. For example, at the end of the story where Moses comes down from the mountain with the 10 Commandments to see the people with the golden calf the book says "No matter how hard the people tried they could never keep God's Rules all the time. Although it is aimed at 4–7 year olds, it can be used effectively with younger children as a first bible and has proved to have more appeal and hold interest longer than the more traditional “baby bibles”, both to the toddler and the adult reading! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Each story is simply told and ends with a simple pointer as to how the story fits into the 'bigger story' of God's redemptive plan.

A Bible like no other, The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to join in the greatest of all adventures, to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the centre of God's great story of salvation - and at the centre of their story too. I have bought this books several times, it makes for a great gift for Primary School Teachers and first time parents or as a birthday gift for young children. The author is sensitive to her readers, there are areas where she may be accused of glossing over - eg she tells us Joseph was imprisoned for something he didn't do - which I feel then leaves the parent to make a choice if and when to explain further and to what extent.

I create my work entirely digitally from my home in North Cornwall, using a combination of a Mac and an iPad. Sharing the Gospel with The Jesus Storybook Bible has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. She loves retelling the stories and the best part is that I didn’t have to ask her to read it, she was drawn to it! Lloyd-Jones was born in Kampala, Uganda and studied Art History with French at University of Sussex and Paris-Sorbonne University. The hard cover ensures it will last years, and the stories and illustrations passionate adults and children.

They have been translated into over 60 languages, sold more than 6 million copies and won a tidy stack of awards. The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to discover for themselves the one who is at the center of God’s great rescue story — and at the center of their story, too. Even the Old Testament stories of `The young hero and the horrible giant' and `Daniel and the scary sleepover' come full circle to Jesus, the greatest Hero, King, Lover and Rescuer the world has ever known.

This is one of for kids bibles that we own, on top of other faith based story books and it is by far my favourite for telling kids the stories of the bible. That—in spite of everything, no matter what, whatever it cost him—God won't ever stop loving his children . As with all children's bibles the stories have been chosen from the bible and therefore there is a lot missing - I find it frustating when teaching sunday school that often the story I want is not in any children's bible! It's a great addition to a children's Bible and I hope my kids will read it when they get old enough!
