About this deal

Slightly raucous and harsh on first application, this softens and mellows on the dry down into a beautifully balanced green and leathery scent. Just to give you a hint, Bogart pour Homme uncannily likens Le Mâle Eau de Toilette and A*Men Pure Havane. Still, I bet there are lots of things you readers have done before, and yet you still really love doing it.

When you first put it on, it almost wants you to rip off your shirt and challenge random passers by to a fist fight. It sits heavy on the skin and has very good sillage for awhile then lingers awhile longer on clothes.

Package is stiff cardboard, black with a photo of a fine fountain pen blade, 'Bogart' running accross. Classic fougere : lavender, oakmoss and tonka bean but with a fruity, creamy ( sandalwood and vanilla) twist in the mid.For the cost of a London pint you can own a classic leather with many years of enjoyment to associate with it. In that respect actually could be an affordable alternative to Tobacco Reserve for those who missed the hype train on that. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . On the top The tonka makes the fragrance goes a little into the gourmand zone, giving it a chocolate with a little of vanilla (which makes it a little powdery) and that sour „cherry” vibe makes a nice combination.

The mid and base notes are much more prominent than in my old bottle, and the drydown is a MUCH more balanced and pleasant mossy/birch/leather. In any case, with so many designer fragrances hardly distinguishable from each other, it’s great to experience something so different. Bogart Pour Homme is a bargain, powerhouse scent from the well-respected yet under-appreciated house of Jacques Bogart. I don't get more than a few notes from it, don't find the overall experience that they bring me a very rounded or substantial one, and therefore don't really like this as a fragrance on its own. However, in my humble opinion, the Bogart Pour homme is far superior and it has an excellent fixation and projects a lot.Tame the sweetness of Paco Rabanne, add some herbs, smoke, spices, burning leaves, soap and place everything inside a well oiled baseball glove to mature for a year. This is a classic men's fragrance in all the ways I could possibly describe leather, wood, spice etc. I’ve been collecting these green 70s/80s fougeres as part of my “journey through fragrance history” because they’re cheap and I generally really like these old classics, but Bogart is, so far, my least favorite of them. That dilutes itself in a strong cherry tobacco vibe and dries down with very pleasant notes of tonka and patchouli.

Seeing it was launched in 1975, I was looking forward to a bombardment of loud oakmoss and nutmeg with a pinch of cloves - and suddenly this leathery chypre/fougere (I cannot decide which? I bought another one because it started to run out, the smell of the new bottle is a little softer, but its durability is very much lower than the one I bought before. It's serious and no-nonsense, without so much as a playful wink or nod to the softer side of humanity. There is a watery presence in the blend, an element of almost minty freshness becoming finally sharply powdery. This is for everyday occasions is not a compliment master but projects very good and you smelll nice. It takes a couple of months with air in the bottle , but now the weird vinegar smell has gone and developed into a sharp and mossy gem. It's a bit simpler and louder than Rochas Man, but they're definitely relatives, with similar uses of lavender. Vibes of respectful powerhouses arise from Caron's Pour Un Homme, Boss Nº 1, Aramis 900, and Lapidus For Man, .
