In fact, before I looked up the notes I swore this had cardamom because it reminded me a lot of La Nuit which I own but am very underwhelmed with. Most known for being, "The Wolf of Wall Street" for its aromatic warm spicy scent and is long lasting. UPDATE: To add to my earlier comments, I find Ferragamo Pour Homme more to my liking over the Black in my opinion. as per my nose, the scent is 80% similar to it, but has lower quality components, hence the opening is quite harsh. I find the opening to be harsh and offensive, which surprised me mindful of all the hype this fragrance has received over the years.

I do sense some leather in the background as well which also keeps this from becoming too shampoo like. Definitely a great find and if you're looking for a good signature scent with a nice tonka (vanilla), lavender and a hint of spice then I'd highly recommend this.I would really like to have those who say there are better choices for cheapies to list them instead of making a disparaging remark with no recommendations…not helpful folks. The fragrance this reminds me of is Sauvage, although they are not exactly the same, but to me they have a lot in common, the same type of artificial freshness, although I find F much fresher and cleaner, and I like it much better. Ferragamo were probably about to pull the plug on this but luckily for them the joker on YouTube put it in top 10 lists when he actually had a following. Perhaps, such information is linked with the reformulation that occurred after 2010, whose bottle brings the letters in silver, instead of red (the original, which I tested).

Voluptuous Labdanum releases rich ambery undertones and leathery facets that endow the fragrance with extreme solar sensuality and round out this Ambery/Woody fragrance.Real inoffensive, great for office wear or when you want to smell good and feel clean, without people smelling you too much. It's not as spicy or pepperyand it doesn't have the same depth, but it does smell clean and is quite soft. Every now and then I get a slight cloying feeling from this fragrance, which is what made me first want to get rid of it. That being said I would still recommend the fragrance as the performance is a good 7/8 hours on my skin and the scent is smooth and sexy. Unfortunately Salavatore Ferragamo's men's line was rather average until the Tuscan Scent line came out.
