I loved the fact it was set in Scotland and the descriptions of the characters, mountains and the weather were very vivid. Andrew Glossop is an equally great character, someone from an incredibly privileged background but with a less than ideal family life, proving that money isn’t always everything. I was very unconvinced that Christie would be able to make him likable and worthy of Grace’s interest. We see a lot of her private anguish and regrets from how she ran away from home and what she missed out on. This was an entertaining and easy-to-follow women’s fiction story set in a small village in Scotland with substantial currents of family drama and a gentle undercurrent of a budding sweet and light romance. I don’t know if he’d ever be in the running for my favourite book boyfriend, but he does redeem himself.
