About this deal

High-quality, custom-tuned 50mm neodymium audio drivers deliver excellent sound with the range needed to hear everything on the battlefield. If you don’t, like most people I’d assume, any profile it’ll create for you will just sound worse when listening to something outside the parameters it picked for you. Thankfully, the headband adjustment sliders seem to be made of aluminum so there is some structural integrity if you were worried about that. Here, you’ll find mostly expected options to tweak such as custom EQ settings, firmware updates, battery percentage, and more.

Generally, a game that’s got good sound design will make it possible to pick up on the direction of things even with stereo headphones, and some games will have their own special surround sound modes available. The high-range emphasis also makes the higher elements of Grian Chatten’s voice more noticeable, like breaths and other mouth sounds. Nevertheless, it’s comfortable and feels lightweight, and the ear pads never press too hard against my glasses. Surround Sound on PC and Mac: Enables a multi-channel audio experience on PC, putting you right in the middle of your game, plus support for Sony Tempest 3D audio on PS5.I have a bald head that really puts that aspect of comfort to the test, and this headset didn't leave me feeling tender on the crown of my head.

This all pairs with the headband’s adjustable metal sliders, which offer decent flexibility, and yolks that can adjust on two axes, letting the headset clamp around the ears with fairly even pressure. After setting up – and ultimately abandoning – my SoundID profile, I opted for the standard Dolby Audio surround experience on PC. speaker system here, but the effect is as close to the real thing as you can get with a pair of headsets. If you’re skeptical about the five different sound profiles – Pure Direct, Movie Theater, FPS Competition, Clear Chat, and Bass Boost – I get it. The Corsair HS65 Wireless is a variant of last year’s HS65 Surround—a straightforward, if a little humdrum, gaming headset. The plastic body doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, and plays into the headset being extremely light at 275g.

I’ve seen “Discord certified” applied to many mediocre microphones, but this time, it’s well deserved. Listening to a rock song like Right Way Backby Crown Lands, the kick drum and the reverberant part of the tom hits really come through prominently.Listening to some solo bass lines with sparse guitar and synth on top lets the bass shine through, but it definitely gets buried once a few instruments get layered up top with vocals. The CORSAIR HS65 SURROUND Gaming Headset deli Of course, we’d love to see those able to be used at the same time but you’ll have to go for a more expensive pair of headphones for that feature. Unless you know what you’re looking for, set the EQ to “Pure Direct”, as this preset suits everything well. For those who want more, there is also a bass-boost mode that takes things way over the top in my opinion.

Looking at the earcups, the HS55 has a yoke design for the headband but the HS65 has a one-sided connection to the earcup. As punchy as the audio can be, even at the bass-end of the spectrum, the bass tends to fall to the wayside when there's more going on across the whole sonic frequency range. As such, vertical and horizontal positioning is quite decent, and I had no problems identifying approaching enemies in Overwatch 2.
