The writing is excellent as always; the physical chemistry is most definitely there, and I loved some of the softer moments. One day, one of the girls gets it stuck in her hair and he doesn't even bother to try and brush it out and get it out. I love the neighbor/single dad/age gap trope so I knew i’d like this but I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Was it enough to make up for the fact that they’d have to go back and forth between two places for the rest of their childhood?She asked more fucking questions than anyone I’d ever known and never accepted an answer she didn’t like. At the mention of Naomi’s boyfriend, a wealthy guy we’d gone to high school with I’d never much liked, I snorted. Dex and I might be twelve years apart, but the fire between us is the kind that will never burn out. Dex and Winnie had a grumpy/sunshine relationship, so it was nice to see both MCs keep their different personalities even after they got together.
