About this deal

There was so much that happened in this trade but I don’t want this review to be too long so I’ll try and keep it brief. Another important thing that they did on their classic run was to abandon the Comics Code Authority, something that happened only once before with Stan Lee's Spider-Man. The book starts off very slowly and reads like a combination of poetry and prose, placed around artwork. Otra obra leída del gran maestro Alan Moore, una que entraría perfectamente en el top de Moore junto con Watchmen, From Hell, La broma asesina, etc. Along he comes and with but a flick of his pen, a turn of the page, he curb stomps the competition back into their inferior, shabbily crafted tenements.

But the best is saved for last in an apocalyptic resolution that, in a bravura feat, is a Crisis on Infinite Earths tie-in that manages to be absolutely disconnected from that event while ultimately suggesting that Swamp Thing may be the DC hero who truly saved the day for the whole thing. Featuring weekly comic release discussions, creator AMAs, a friendly and helpful userbase, and much more!Comprising three deluxe hardcover volumes, ABSOLUTE SWAMP THING BY ALAN MOORE debuts completely new coloring for every page, crafted exclusively for this definitive collector's edition by legendary color artist Steve Oliff (Akira, Miracleman). So yeah, up until now, I've managed to not read Saga of the Swamp Thing, cause you can only read it once, and I'm fast running out of Alan Moore things to read for the first time. There is so much to discuss and unpack here that I have no idea where to begin, but I believe that as many people as possible should read this. A thing that I want to mention as well is the recoloring, something a lot of people are not a fan of, but I don't mind one bit in this collection.

I found this second one a bit less enjoyable story wise, but this is still miles ahead of its competition. Also included in this Absolute, some sketch work, Moore's original script and an extensive afterword from Stephen R.We get to know more of Swamp Thing with Parliament of Threes, and we finally see the first appearance of John Constantine, who has a pretty big role in this collection. And I'm talking about Swamp Thing and not Alan Moore, just to be clear, for Alan Moore is the prince. They printed the series on gloss paper so the colors are super vibrant compared to the old newspaper pages. I knew before going in that this run spawned the publishing offspring Vertigo into being and man, what a start. I would be remiss to mention that psychedelics also would have played a massive part in writing this based on the immaculate visuals and experiences Swamp Thing has.

Nunca me había llamado la atención este personaje, ni siquiera tras escuchar que Alan Moore lo había trabajado; me causaba bastante indiferencia. As if 380 pages of rich, captivating and gloriously vivid panels and colouring weren’t enough, Alan Moore serves up wave after wave of sophisticated ideas and quite brilliant prose that breathe all kinds of life into an otherwise uninspiring DC character. Sí, el pequeño organismo que consume al hombre que pasó a ser la cosa del pantano, efectivamente existe. My brother and I rapaciously watched the movies and TV series as kids, and we collected all of the figures from the short-lived animated series. The last thing I should mention is that this is the first appearance of John Constantine and it makes a lot of sense why Jamie Delano’s first run of the character is so terrible. its an incredible crafted story and even tho they label it horror I just feel that its so much more.
