YSL Black Opium Extreme is Black Opium perfume without limits, a vibrant tour de force of white flowers, dark coffee and vanilla.

In this version you have that YSL elegant, haute couture sexiness with dimmed lights, luscious red lipsticks, sensual games of glances. I can smell the accord that I think is meant to represent coffee, but really it just gives an overall warmth and bitterness to the otherwise overwhelming sweetness; kind of like drinking a hot chocolate out of a mug that previously had coffee in it. I get a blast of coffee for about 10 seconds which I didn't mind as I quite like coffee notes, then it fades into a strong, almost generic perfume-y smell with a hint of a licorice/aniseed smell? On a test strip i got abysmal performance, it lasted for about 30 minutes and most of that was the screechy sweet white florals before the coffee came out briefly then died down.It just works well for me, not at all generic, is has many facets with its jasmine, liquorice and pear. Black Opium Eau de Parfum Extreme opens with the brightness of citrusy mandarin essence sweetened by a cherry accord and lusciuusly crisp pear accord. Finally, the scent is rounded off with deep and intense notes of vanilla, sandalwood, and cashmeran, leaving a warm and seductive fragrance on the skin.

My partner was very intrigued by this scent, liked this enough to wear it, but his eyes are on Angel EdP at the moment. I don't have the best of luck with longevity/performance with this line, this one lasted maybe 3-4 hours and had soft projection.

Black Opium is one of the best examples for a designer fragrance with lots of flankers which are almost all very close to the EDP.
