About this deal

But what really pissed me tf off is how good PD is at writing smut because I really started to enjoy it and started to like Kaleb for a little while. Her multi faceted personality gets too big to be contained in the House so she sets off to find herself. She's forlorn, colorless and vapid to begin with, but soon develops wings like a butterfly and finds her place in their home. And of course you cant have all that heat and not have an outlet, some of the HOTTEST SEX I've read. tiernan: there was one passage i highlighted where tiernan made some comment about “i may have the personality of a brick, but at least i don’t need anybody.

Similar to the After series, it was kind of like Credence was a train-wreck I couldn't look away from. I thought the way Tiernan just “shuts off” her strong feelings and chemistry with the two “unchosen” guys was pretty abrupt and it honestly felt a little off, since it was built up so much in the first half. As the boundaries blur between friendship and some thing a lot deeper, Tiernan navigates the tricky dynamics amongst them, leading to an intense and forbidden romance. Kaleb locked Terry into her room and did not let her out and another time he hurt her so much that she ran away.Credence showcases her chops to get down and dirty in more than one way; while it didn't work for me, and, bluntly, grossed me out, I can see why there's a certain draw to her prose. I was honestly a bit sad and (initially) surprised by who Tiernan chose to pursue because I found that connection the least strong out of all of them, but it was also the fact that she chooses him so late in the book when certain dynamics had already been well-established.

noah did confuse me sometimes though because he acted all tough and bad or whatever but then was really gentle and chill the next second so that was kinda weird, it’s like the author couldn’t decide exactly what they wanted him to be like. problematic head-turn moments that made me flinch back in weirdness due to skin-crawling, uneasy and completely unhealthy traits.Obviously if it were up to me I wouldn’t let the smut get this far (Tiernan having sex with all the Van der Bergs). It’s beautiful seeing Tiernan’s transformation from someone who’s always lonely, empty, and not used to having people care about her into someone who grows to appreciate, trust, and love the people around her.

And the FEELS are what will drown you, devour you, subsume you from head to toe till it's white out of acute pain and miserable grief. I’m not saying the book isn’t problematic, but I also happen to think it’s a literary masterpiece and the author who wrote it a genius; for not only is it complex, but it’s also classy, believable, and brings forth an array of emotions. PD really built the characters and their dynamic up well, but I was a little disappointed with how certain things just fizzled out. Tieran grows and evolves so much during the course of this and for the first time in her life feels like she's part of a family. But then you realize you’re the only one who fits there in that small world, and being alone feels worse than not feeling safe. This is actually what I appreciated most about it the pure uniqueness and the fact that it is difficult to compartmentalise refusing to fit into any specific box. Her romantic development with Jake was so good and filled with tension from the start that it did not make sense AT ALL for her to be with the other two but, ya know, plot and all that.

answer: bad), and it’s kinda controversial or whatever and ✨taboo✨ so maybe i’ll read it to see what it’s like. The girl (Tiernan) has sex with her step-uncle Jake first, then step-cousin Noah, then other step-cousin Kaleb. While her POV certainly helps understand all the characters, it’s a little bit challenging to connect with one of the Van der Bergs considering his “limitation” and that he has the least interaction with Tiernan. overall i think tiernan was better suited alone, but if she had to pick between one of the 3 guys, i think noah was the best. We don’t have winter here where I live, and reading this book has made me feel like I’ve lived vicariously through it.
