We made several trips to outdoor places like zoos and amusement parks over this Summer with our children and the heat was horrible at times. The blades are soft and don't hurt when touched, and my hair didnt tangle in the blades when I bent over to help my daughter. I am not a fan of the summer heat at all but with 3 little ones you don’t have a choice but to be outside in the heat.
