About this deal

I'm hoping for more great color combos in the future (so I can continue to play LEGO pens) but I think Kaweco has a great, competitive entry-level pen, here. The only way is ethics Kaweco manufactures primarily in Germany so we have no concerns around labour conditions. I used one of my own converters and inked with Aoinibi, which I figured would be a perfect match for the blue of the cap.

Also, I have found that the Fine versions have a delightful feedback to them which I enjoy, on smooth paper. The Perkeo is a relaunch of a old Kaweco design, and is longer then the classic sport models but with the familiar octagonal shape. This Kaweco Collection edition is a powerful red, which moves along the spectrum from pink to orange, depending on how you view it. The one problem for me is for some reason it reminds me of the crystal BIC ballpoints and while the appearance has grown on me, my first reactions were not so positive.By accepting all cookies, you agree to our use of cookies to deliver and maintain our services and site, improve the quality of Reddit, personalize Reddit content and advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertising. They do feel perfectly comfortable for me, but you may want to try holding one before you commit to the purchase if molded grips cause you grief. With it’s great value and grip section, enabling fatigue-free writing the Perkeo is perfect for those looking for their first fountain pen or are in need of a work pen to get the job done.

In some cases, customs and import duties may be charged as your parcel reaches its destination country. First off, I need to inform you that this pen was leant to the United Inkdom review group, of which I am a member, by Kaweco themselves. Kaweco have several ranges which fit under this grouping and while most people will be aware of the Sport and even probably own one or more of those in the plethora of finishes and colours with which they are available, it is the Perkeo which is the brand’s starter pen. The Kaweco Perkeo Fountain Pen is a charming writing instrument that combines vintage design with modern functionality. Also being a lot thinner than the sides on the cap means that you will need a very high level of OCD to want to line up the top facet of the cap and barrel, which is a good thing as the cap pulls on/off, so no threads to keep everything in line.Just as invisible infrared radiation can be made visible using various methods, make your creative ideas visible with the Perkeo Infrared. On the Off-Lines paper used in the photos, the writing experience was alright, but I actually quite disliked the feeling on the Tomoe River in my Hobonichi. Presumably due to safety (anti-choking) reasons, there are subtle air gaps in the barrel finial meaning you will not be able to eye dropper this pen, which is partly a shame as you can with the plastic Sports and this has an advantage I will cover shortly. The Perkeo is available in four colors: " Bad Taste" in cherry and black; " Cotton Candy" in pink and grey; " Indian Summer" in black and slime-green; and " Old Chambray" in a pale off-white and blue.

The fountain pen is available in the nib sizes fine (F) and medium (M) and comes with a stylish packaging. Utilising the signature octagonal cap of their renowned Sport range and coupled with a distinctive 16 sided barrel, the Perkeo has a vibrant, contemporary feel. Visually, the octagonal cap and the 16-sided barrel harmonise perfectly with each other, as the surfaces at the different angles create a unique play of light and shadow. The ergonomical grip section insures an effortless writing experience and the colours are very unique.

I have a pair of these which perform well and are comfortable although I have mixed feelings about the look. And this makes sense as the Perkeo is a fairly recent contemporary pen design from Kaweco which exudes youthfulness and enthusiasm. The light can shine through the translucent plastic and is reflected by various angles and edges of the fountain pen. In Kaweco's historical records, the PERKEO model can be found as early as 1900, in the form of an eye- dropper, in a catalogue of the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik (dip pen factory). The Kaweco Perkeo Fountain Pen Jungle Green offers modern design for your start in the world of handwriting no matter what age.

Visually, the octagonal cap and the 16-sided barrel harmonise perfectly with each other, as the different angles of the surfaces create a unique play of light and shadow. While thin these do seem to be quite effective at stopping the pen body from rolling (when uncapped). This, as previously mentioned, is a downside to the breathing holes in the barrel as this stops the Perkeo from being used as an eye dropper.
