About this deal

The Four Foundations will teach you how to be your own coach, and not waste time on methods that don't work. Sherman does a great job of illustrating and supporting his concepts with statistics and objective data, while presenting in the information in an easily digestible manner.

What you do now is a mirror image of the type of person you believe that you are (either consciously or subconsciously). Jon accomplishes exactly what he set out to do with his writing, which is to 1) spell things out clearly with little room for interpretation and 2) communicate in a simple and straightforward manner. Hopefully, you don’t see this as counterintuitive or contradictory, but I’m going to change gears here a bit. I believe The Four Foundations is the most comprehensive and practical guide on how to improve your golf game and increase your enjoyment. Also, anyone who follows Jon on social media will find a lot the same things discussed there covered again in the book. Get detailed, step-by-step instructions on methods that will increase your skills and finally transfer your practice range game to the course. What is most interesting is that having grit elsewhere in life does not necessarily mean it will translate to your golf game.

If you are reading this book to become the absolute best golfer and want to lower your handicap, this chapter will be vital, especially if you lack grit.If you want to become a better golfer, you will need to learn to dig in when things aren’t going your way and change your habits. While I still have to work on these shots to maintain my skill, I believe I am an excellent intermediate wedge player. In my quest to become a better tournament player, it became apparent by watching other golfers and benchmarking my performance that these were also problems that needed to be solved.

can not recommend this audiobook enough, I'm a 13hc golfer and after listening to this book went and shot a 77 (5 over) round due to listening to the concepts in this book. This book contains everything except the fundamentals of a golf swing, so you’ll need a coach or a different resource for that. The provided stats, advice, and even crucial training drills provide a clear path to not only get better but enjoy this awesome game we are all gladly addicted to! I have been friends with Jon for years and have watched him evolve into one of the top voices in game improvement. The book draws on proven methods in various topics, including expectation management, strategy, practice methods, and sharpening your mental game.A psychologist who wrote a wonderful book entitled Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, Angela Duckworth, defines grit as “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.
