It comes with three settings: high, medium and low, and has an automatic timer that runs for up to 12 hours in one-hour increments. Cooking for six to seven hours on low allows the meat to reach a point of being fall-apart, making for a satisfying family stew.Roasts aren't just for chilly winter days – this summer slow-roast lamb is beautifully succulent, light and singing with gentle spices. Simply place the whole chicken in a pot with onions, carrots and a bay leaf and leave your slow cooker to do the hard work. Nice little book, handy size and good pictures but many recipes require prior cooking which defeats the object of a one stop crock pot dish. We would have liked to have been able to adjust the volume of the timer as we found it too loud, but the advantage it is you shouldn't miss hearing it going off.
