About this deal

The story of Martell begins as early as 1700, Jean Martell traveled to Paris to produce a cognac from the best eau de vie.

Ground spice (black pepper, coriander) and red berries on the nose lead to rich fruit flavours: fig chutney and compote, almonds and walnuts.Bollinger's 2008 La Grande Année is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, ripe lemons, honeycomb, warm biscuits, dried white flowers and a delicate top note of walnuts and fino sherry. France's appellation system was created in the early 20th century and has since been imitated in many other countries.

We are the only Cognac house to distil clear wines in this way, producing exceptionally fine eaux-de-vie. Rounded and fruity on the palate (notes of fig and walnut) followed by the characteristic power and finesse of eau-de-vie from Grande Champagne.

Created in 1912 it is deep golden copper in colour and has strong aromas of orchard fruits, plummy warmth, cinnamon, vetiver and toasted almonds.

The real trick in making a great Cognac comes in blending many Eau de Vie (spirits) together as well as ageing them for exactly the right period of time. Check out how we can personalise bottles with engraved messages, engraved images or full colour printed photographs. The wine is almost completely dominated by the extremely exciting and rare Tauxières Premier Cru, which is one of two villages classified 99% on the Grand Cru scale. The flavour is simple and mellow with a long and fruit-filled finish coupled with light spices and a hint of honey. Protecting the names of French wines and guaranteeing the quality and provenance of the products themselves are its key objectives. The 2020 Echo de Lynch-Bages is gentle and harmonious on the nose, not powerful but quite seductive thanks to its pure red currant and wild strawberry fruit; boysenberry jam emerges with time (meaning a couple of hours). It's aged for a minimum of 21 years in honour of the 21 Gun Salute that is fired at the Tower of London for Royal celebration. Take a sip and savour the powerful expression of fig, redcurrant and blackcurrant, with a hint of orange peel and a touch of vanilla oak.A nose of ground spice (black pepper, coriander) and red berries, coinciding with rich fruit flavours: fig chutney and compote, almonds and walnuts. Around 100 eaux de vide work together to create the rounded, bold flavour which is characterised by rich black pepper, a touch of spice and dry and candied fruit. Wine is ingrained in French culture at almost every level of society; it is the drink of both the elite and the common people, and a key symbol in Roman Catholicism, France's majority religion.
