The main difference between the Launchpad Mini and Launchpad MK2 is the RGB light system. The Launchpad MK2 has an RGB light system that provides more information, such as the colours of Ableton clips, shown on the hardware. The Launchpad Mini MK1 and 2 do not have the RGB light system and contain only 4 colours (Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red). The Novation Launchpad S is a highly versatile midi controller and is a powerful instrument when used in combination with Ableton Live. This midi controller has a great selection of features that make it perfect for your Ableton Live setup. The Launchpad S comes with a midi remote script to ensure it functions with Ableton Live, so just plug it in (see the instructions below to see how) and you're good to go. The operation of the two Launchpads is the same.
