I’m a big fan of moss in hamster cages. I find the pillow or sheet variety works really well under water and food bowls- it keeps things really neat and keeps the other bedding out of there. I haven’t found that any reptile moss is bad for hamsters (please let me know if you have heard otherwise). It seems like some hammies will try to taste it, realize it’s pretty gross and never try again. Again- make sure you freeze it overnight to kill any bugs in the bag

Air circulation & Easy to Open - Present plenty of ventilation going on though the Curved slits in the cage top. The cage top perfectly attuned to the cage to ensure an ideal living environment inside. Also, the roof cover is easy to open up or close, it's convenience to reach out the water bottle, feed your hamster, change the bedding materials, or set up new toys for them Acrylic bathroom tray- these work great as sand baths! Robos should have a lot of their cage (I’ve heard 1/3) be sand! So you need a nice large space for it and space to put things inside the sand bath (like a hide). I would love a larger sand area but I haven’t found anything quite as nice lookin and convenient. Plus the acrylic is pretty hard to chew (although I don’t find that robos are big chewers anyway!) It's sleek looking so it would be hard for your parents to complain about how it looks. I have mine in our living room. I prefer the natural surface variety for climbing and texture. My hams took to these instantly- they are just the cutest little cozy size, great for Robos or Dwarves! I think this might be a little small for a Syrian. It's chew resistant but not proof. If you have a gerbil or mouse this is not the cage for you, it's MDF board, one little chip and they would be able to get it (also because the little slits at the top would be easily escapable for a mouse or something smaller than a hamster. I haven't had any issues with my hamsters chewing out, I think it's because they like the cage and because I give them play time outside the cage at night so they are happy to come home to the Hamster Taj Mahal as my husband calls it.

Hamsters, particularly robos, enjoy lots of cozy spots to hide under, crawl through and generally feel protected in. Provide them with lots of variety to keep them happy, healthy and feeling safe! The large is the biggest cage available in the US and it is huge! Medium would be better if you had a robo or a dwarf hamster but for your Syrians (esp the females) get the large. It's worth the extra space. It's SO DEEP, you can fill so much bedding in it. For you hammy to be it's happiest, you want to have 6 to 10 inches of bedding (they love more if you've got it!) and in this cage you can provide that easily. This is a great option if you’re looking for a more permanent option with great floorspace. It’s a whopping 49” wide, 19.5” deep and 21.25” tall, adding up to 950 square inches of hamster-filled fun! of 5 overall, with one person saying it was perfect as he didn’t want his rat chewing everything up because she is “a little monster!” Conclusion I love how it's clear acrylic all the way around so you can see easily! I love seeing my little hammy dig his tunnels.
