This detox-period can take some time. It may even happen that you smell of sweat a little more than usual during this period. Keep applying until your body has gotten used to it; play around with the frequency to discover what works best for you.According to Nuud Deodorant, there can be a kind of “detox period” when you switch from a regular deodorant to Nuud. Because their products use micro silver to inhibit bacterial growth, it may take time and repeated applications for your body to adapt and for Nuud to reach full efficacy, though that time varies from person to person. It's worth remembering that natural ingredients can still cause skin reactions. For example, bicarbonate of soda can irritate the skin and cause itchiness, especially if used after shaving, and some essential oils that are commonly found in natural deodorants might also cause skin irritation. Does the Nuud deodorant work?
Most other natural deodorants have a baking soda base because its alkaline properties inhibit bacteria growth. However, it can be harsh on sensitive skin. If I’m being honest, it does have a slight clay-like scent which is unsurprising as it contains mineral clay. However, I don’t think it’s that strong and I don’t notice it when I wear it. nuud ingredient list There are sensitive formulas available. You might also wish to experiment with alternative hair-removal methods such as epilation or waxing, which might cause less irritation as they are longer lasting.
The only thing I would criticise is the size of the Nuud bottle. Filled with only 15ml of the Nuud lotion, this seems very little to me for a unit price of 12.99 Euros (with delivery included). I know they claim that one bottle will last for 6 weeks, but this means you would have to buy approximately 8 bottles a year. This isn’t really that great in terms of the environment and costs. The company says its products are 100% natural, free from preservatives, alcohol, artificial fragrance and palm oil, and are registered with The Vegan Society. At the start, I did use the product daily, it took a while for me to get used to this part of it, but in all honesty, I really did not need to.
What is nuud deodorant?
The other ingredients that make up Nuud’s magic formula are also entirely natural, including: coconut oil, castor oil, zinc oxide, almond oil, mineral clay, vegetable emulsifier, castor oil extract, vegetable mix-enhancer (known as propylene carbonate) and carnauba wax. Experiment with application frequency. Most people can go somewhere between 48 hours to a week without reapplying. Showers don’t affect it!
