About this deal

The Saurus Start collecting looks like a nice start to a Coalesced list (Specially for Koatl's Claw) while the Skink one look generally good. Two boxes give all the conversions heroes, two combinations Carnosaurs/Troglodon and a better sized Saurus units (20 Warriors and 15 Knights), building around 1490 points if you build the most expensive models points wise. It also opens up a Battalion, the Firelance Starhost/Temple-Host (both 160 points) with 3 units of 5 Knights and one of the Scar-Veterans. It was the Seraphon that destroyed a Silver Tower, hampering Tzeentch plans badly but also allowing Be’Lakor, the First Daemon Prince to damage the Astromatrix and summon the “Cursed Skies”, a curse that severs the link of the Mortal Realms from Azyr preventing the Stormcast Eternals to return home upon their death. Skinks! They’re impossible not to love. These diminutive lizardmen are loved by canny generals for their speed, lore fans for their cunning and model-makers for just how inexplicably cute they are – so we’ve made it easier than ever to field a whole army of the little guys. Some of the best casting in the game. While not on the level of the Disciples of Tzeentch, Seraphon have access to one of the most powerful wizard options in the game-The Slann Starmaster. They provide both a consistent casting base, and a powerful defensive base against magic being able to dispel up to three spells at infinite range with a +1 to the attempt. If you want to go even further the Seraphon’s only special character lord Kroak can cast and unbind 4 spells a turn!

Of the sub-factions, Fangs of Sotek and their ability to redeploy Skink units twice for free each phase is definitely the most popular, but Koat’s Claw and the +1 to wound to Saurus and Kroxigor after charge is not to be underestimated either. The firsts of our Skink military leaders come from a single kit, but only one every 3 models can easily be assembled as a Chief. You will need a bit of creativity to kitbash them if you want to have flexibility and still maintain the unit minimum size required. Otherwise you will need 3 kits to obtain 1 unit and 1 hero of each type and one extra model that you can kitbash in either chief. For inspiration, I turned to the Warhammer 40,000 Necrons range. The aesthetics of these two ranges are remarkably similar, so they’re perfect for converting. From there, I worked out how to make all kinds of mechanised walkers and constructs to represent different units in the Seraphon army. Saurus Knights Lance sprues, which have lance-wielding arms, the banner-wielding arm, banner accessories (including toppers), shield-carrying arms, wardrums, some club-wielding arms, an alternative head for the Alpha Knight's mount, and some decorations. To summarize, this is a great army, extremely competitive and fun for every type of player. You still need to study the synergies well but combining the various type of units is much more satisfying than before. If you want more information about Seraphon you can follow Caleb’s YouTube channel. I'm convinced that grabbing a second box is critical to any collection. In general, I try to play as WYSIWYG as possible. to both help me remember what I have on the table, and to assist my opponent. The second box will allow you to field a larger unit of Saurus Warriors or build more units of Guard, and gets you more bits to explore conversions. You'll be surprised how many bases you can cover, which is what I'll elaborate on below.

And if there’s one thing that brings together the two sides, is exactly the ability to distribute mortal wounds left and right. Between the Slann and Skink magic, the Realmshaper Engine in Starborne and the enhanced bite rolls in Coalesced, there’s mortal wounds for all tastes that cover the entire battlefield. Contents: 1 Primaris Battle Leader (HQ), 10 Intercessors (Troops), 3 Aggressors (Elites), 1 Space Wolves Primaris upgrade sprueSwap this with three non-Command Saurus Guard from the 10-model unit to run a total of four 5-model units of Saurus Guard.
