About this deal

Focusrite isn't some recording nobody, either. It's a well-respected brand in professional audio with a legacy of quality products. From the products I've experienced in the past, I can see why: they're simple to operate yet technically effective for high-grade audio production. Of course, a large conference that has a 12-foot-long desk will need more than one microphone. One microphone in the center of the table is not enough. The speaker is going to make a person sitting at one end of the table sound very far away. What Options are Available? And as PC gamers, we will, of course, always try to get the best we can for less. It’s easy to get lost in the deep dark woods that are the world of audio and even easier to spend a ludicrous amount of time and money chasing the best possible setup. But we don’t need studio-ready equipment, so the price is essential when looking at how good a particular mic is.

The new Phonak Roger Table Mic II is a wireless transmitting microphone designed for people who take part in meetings. With Phonak's innovative MultiBeam Technology it selects the person who’s talking and switches automatically between the meeting participants. The user has added control as the Remote allows the microphone to be muted and unmuted and the listening area increased or decreased. Several Roger Table Mic IIs can be connected creating a multi-talker network, making it ideal for large meetings and variable configurations of meeting rooms. The device takes only 2 hours to fully charge, and provides up to an amazing 12 hours of streaming! A red coloured light will indicate low battery status. However, before use, the Table Mic must be paired with your hearing aids. Thankfully, this can easily be done at home or by your hearing care professional if necessary. How to use: While a pop filter will help reduce plosives, the sound of air escaping violently from your mouth and towards the mic, from making their way over to airwaves to your listeners' unfortunate ear holes. It'll also stop your microphone from getting grubby when you're up-close and sounding sibilants. The 2i2's twin-preamp design lets you run two microphones through a single interface. This has always been a pain point for anyone who tried to plug more than one USB mic into a PC. That value alone is worth the price of admission, but there's a lot more to the 2i2 that we love. Boundary mics are in their own microphone class. There are many options to choose from and the concept is simple. The microphone gets placed along the mounting surface or boundary. Basically, mics can be placed on a desk or a floor as if it is on a presentation stage. Manual mode– Tap the segment of the specific direction you want to prioritise and it will light blue! In fact, you can select more than one segment for a range of speakers. Bit rate is the speed at which a digital and audio file gets encoded. Without trekking too much into audiophile territory, 16 bit and above is considered a good bit rate. What connector do I need? XLR or USB?

One Roger Table Mic is perfect for a small meeting environment. For larger meetings, it´s possible to connect several Roger Table Mics so that each participant gets the signal clearly The gamer-centric HyperX Quadcast S is an excellent microphone for the gamer or streamer looking for an easy-to-use, clear-sounding mic. While it doesn't quite match up to the Yeti X in terms of sound quality, the Quadcast S makes up for it in design and feature set. Specs-wise, the S is more or less identical to the Quadcast, offering the same frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz, bit-rate of 16-bit, and three 14mm condensers, and lets you choose between four polar patterns. Though my plosives tended to sound a little more blown out than I'd like, the quality of my voice sounded good. During conference calls, I can be heard clearly by numerous colleagues commenting on how much louder I was than anyone else, which is an easy fix by bringing down the gain. The ultimate accessory for your Livio Edge, Livio AI or Livio hearing aid, the Starkey 2.4Ghz Table Microphone is designed for busy people in mind. Indeed, it’s perfect for use in an office environment, especially for large gatherings or circle-style meetings. As you can hear, the Profile has a very warm sound, uh, profile that gives my voice a nice, crisp quality. Perfect if the type of content you create involves much talking or you need to sound like a professional on a work call. The AIR switch, once enabled, bolsters the high frequencies by recreating the ISA 110 mic preamp found on the Focusrite Studio Console. That might not mean much to you, but the end result is it helps your voice pop just that little bit more. I also find it helps with clarity in the final recording. The Roger technology enables up to ten microphones to be networked together. This includes Roger On V2, Roger On iN V2, Roger Select, Roger Select iN, Roger Table Mic II, Table Mic II iN and Roger Clip-on-Mic.

The Rode NT-USB does have a gain issue, and adjusting it inside software won’t do much, but it can still be a serviceable product for newbie podcasters and streamers.

Boundary Mics

Ceiling mics are ideal when cluttering a conference table is not an option. Other types of microphones will take up a lot of space on a table and have visible wires. Having a ceiling mic will help to ensure that conference tables are kept free of annoying wires. With the added complexity of XLR comes a great deal of flexibility that you otherwise wouldn't be able to access without even more complex digital mixing software on a USB mic. You can mix, adjust, and monitor an XLR mic before it ever touches your PC, and that's a massive boon if you're looking for a more complex setup.

On the software front, well, there isn't any. The Profile is a plug-and-play microphone with no accompanying software for tweaking sound. So, if you want to apply filters to your voice or anything fun like that, you'll need to use third-party apps. Since all the controls are on the mic, I'm alright with not having to install another app for my accessories. The MultiBeam Technology utilises multiple microphones with beams created in six directions to cover 360°. The signal-to-noise ratio for all six direction is calculated and the beam with the best clarity is automatically selected. This helps to provide good understanding of speech in group conversations such as in noisy restaurants or family gatherings. Enjoy TV and Music These speakerphones tend to be VoIP phones that are designed for conferences. They have a lot of good features that are expected from UC and VoIP. Setup: The best microphone depends almost entirely on your setup. This list gives a brief overview of all-purpose mics, podcasting mics, music mics and so forth. Basically, determine what you most need a microphone for, then find the appropriate one for your needs. As with most other gadgets, cheaper microphones tend to be more generalized, whereas more expensive ones tend to be more specialized. This doesn’t mean that cheaper microphones are inherently worse. But if you want semi-professional quality, you’ll have to pay semi-professional prices. It still retains its sports-talk radio broadcast mic look, which isn't for everyone, but I think it has a certain charm.I love the dynamic RGB lighting, anyways. It looks like you're speaking into a lava lamp.

Shure's first hybrid XLR/USB microphone manages to provide pro-grade sound with minimal set-up and expertise. While it is more expensive than your average premium mic, its versatility completely justifies the cost. It's hands-down one of the best microphones I've used for recording.
