Turbo Search (Increases automatically search speed from 100 to 300 steps per second for bands with 5 kHz steps) Talking about the volume, it is regulated using the knob at the top of the unit. The thing is, the same knob also controls the squeak and SEL functions. It’s not unusual to accidentally change the channel when all you wanted to do was adjust the volume. You would get the hang of it with time. You should know that frequencies in the 800 MHz band can’t be scanned by this device. So if the police or other agencies are using that channel, you’d have to consider getting a different scanner if a monitoring police signal is your priority. The BC75XLT can be programmed either manually or with a PC. You would have to get a good programming cable if you want to use your PC.
