About this deal

In a Q&A withinvestors earlier this year, developer CD Projekt Red has essentially confirmed that we shouldn't expect a Witcher 4 release date before 2025. We are preparing things on the pipeline side and toolset sides," he begins. "Some developers are still learning the technology, and at the same time, there are teams working together with Epic on those aspects that are needed for our open-world RPGs. For the first project, Polaris, it will, maybe not slow down, but it won't accelerate the process.

As mentioned, PS5 and Series X versions of the game offer a 60fps performance mode and a 30fps ray tracing mode, each of which uses AMD's FSR 2.1 upscaling to produce a 4K output with dynamic resolution scaling. FSR 2.1 also takes over anti-aliasing duties from the older FXAA and TAA options, providing a much more stable image as a result. The Witcher 3 is an iconic title and one of modern gaming’s most beloved stories, but most people have already played it multiple times and bought it for multiple consoles. Is it worth spending dozens, if not hundreds of hours with Geralt again? Of course, bringing the game up to the standards of contemporary gamers also means introducing two new modes: Performance and Ray Tracing. Performance Mode prioritizes frame rate at 60FPS, while Ray Tracing aims for 30FPS and includes Ray Traced Global Illumination, enabling more realistic lighting, as well as Ray Traced Ambient Occlusion, enabling more accurate and effective surface lighting. To further bolster these graphic improvements, you can expect a host of fully-integrated community-made mods including 4K textures and models, immersion enhancements, and visual bug fixes. On top of that, we’ve added our own gameplay and graphical improvements. And of course, Photo Mode is now available to show off the beauty of the Continent. (Pro tip: Ray Tracing Mode is perfect for some truly breathtaking shots!) I have to wonder though, will it take them over 2 years to Patch all the bugs created with this update😳 Yeah I'm gonna be honest here, I'm surprised now that not a single outlet Mentioned any bugs that came with this new update. I played it for about 2 hrs last night and experienced the following in that amount of time: That was merely an echo of a similar comment made in March 2017 by CD Projekt Red co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, during a CD Projekt Red investor call.

But before we give the whole review away, let's go over what the Complete Edition actually is. This is an enhanced PS5 re-release of The Witcher 3 and its two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine — although you need to own those expansions already if you want to upgrade them for free on the current-gen console. It's essentially a remaster, with updated visuals and boosted performance — but it also throws in a bunch of gameplay tweaks which help improve the overall experience. Plus a photo mode! How can you tell that someone’s favourite game is The Witcher 3? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you first. When The Witcher 3 finally does arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, expect enhanced visuals and performance, perhaps with some extra bells and whistles. Whether upgrading your PS4 or Xbox One copy for free or experiencing the game for the first time, it’s going to be a real treat for RPG fans. However, the Witcher 3 is starting to show its age in a few areas. While the world itself still holds up, and a spectacular kaleidoscope of colour palettes elevates it further depending on what region you visit, some of the character models are beginning to grow slightly tired. At CD Projekt Red, we’ve long said that the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will harness the full capabilities of next-gen hardware. But what does that mean for the PlayStation 5? Let’s break down some of the features gamers can expect to see when the update comes out on December 14th.Invest your rewards to upgrade your weaponry and buy custom armor, or spend them on horse races, card games, fist fighting, and other pleasures life brings.

There is a new update to the upgraded visuals. These include general, console, and PC improvements and Photo Mode. The Complete Edition contains the base game, offering a huge, over 100-hour long, open-world adventure, as well as both of its massive story expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine worth an extra 50 hours of gameplay! Jakub Knapik, CDPR art director of VGX and lighting, described the new engine as "a toolbox which has a lot of features, a lot of solutions already there that allow teams to just try new stuff."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS5 Review – Bringing A Classic to The Current Gen In Style

Building for better hardware has also allowed the team to increase the game’s streaming budget, which means the game can load more high-quality assets at any given time. For example, you will be able to see smoke from a village from much further away or notice more enhanced geometric detail in city areas like Novigrad.

This was actually a slip of the tongue. Polaris will be the first game in a new Witcher saga. The saga will consist of three games." There's no easy answer, really. I think this is the best version of TW3, and we gave the original a 10, so shouldn't this be a 10? But then we always try to remember that games don't exist in a vacuum. Times change, things can get more and more outdated over time, or they're given new context. Performance looked good in our testing, with only a handful of dips below 60fps evident in the footage provided, although by eye the Novigrad city centre didappear to be dropping frames more heavily. This area was historically the most challenging part of the game in terms of performance - and the foundation of our Witcher GPU benchmarks on PC - so it will be fascinating to see how the new consoles and graphics cards handle the next-gen version. The two modes offer a more responsive 60fps mode, or a 30fps mode with RT.The game's overall tone is masterfully balanced as well. The Witcher's world is relentlessly grim — especially if you happen to be a hapless peasant — but an excellent sense of dark humour prevents proceedings from becoming needlessly miserable. Something I did miss during my first playthrough were the Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. For those of you in the same boat as I am, you will love to know that you can jump right to the content in those expansions by selecting it from the main menu. The Witcher 3 gives you the appropriate levels needed to start that content, automatically completing all of the main quests up to that point. This makes for a fantastic way to jump right into what I missed, which I did almost right away. New Quest, Same Quality Elsewhere inventory modifications and Sign magic shortcut buttons continue the long process of decluttering The Witcher 3’s once notoriously arcane RPG systems. There’s also a new armor quest line I haven’t gotten to, and some updated alternate looks for a few of the characters. Mostly I’m just enjoying tinkering with the UI display settings to keep the screen as minimalistic as possible while once again hunting for ghosts at dusk. The main map, once under siege by quest icons, now mercifully defaults to being mostly blank outside of key points of interest. In times of war, chase down the child of prophecy, a living weapon foretold by ancient elven legends.
