About this deal

Luke Skywalker has accompanied three previous AT-AT models, taking inspiration from his memorable destruction of one such vehicle using a thermal detonator during the Battle of Hoth. This minifigure was introduced with 75235 X-wing Starfighter Trench Run so wears X-wing pilot fatigues instead of an accurate Snowspeeder pilot uniform, that should include white gloves and simpler belt decoration. Most UCS sets tend to be made for display with very few play features. This is far from just a display piece. Almost every panel is removable, revealing a highly detailed interior with many play features. The interior undoubtedly remains cramped and placing the minifigures inside can sometimes prove challenging. Nevertheless, this internal configuration represents an improvement upon earlier models and I am particularly pleased that the designer has still found enough room to incorporate basic controls which surround the minifigures. The second positive feature of this set was the movement capabilities. Unlike the previous two models, you could bend the legs in various different angles and also swing the head around. Although these features were present, it was still quite troublesome to change the posses without breaking it. Furthermore, this rendition of the AT-AT is larger than its predecessors, measuring 38cm in length and 35cm in height. 75054 AT-AT, by comparison, measures 34cm in length while its height is similar, reaching 34cm. These differences seem relatively minor but the new model also maintains a more consistent width throughout the length of the troop compartment. This whole vehicle therefore seems more substantial than past examples.

AT-ATs can deploy speeder bikes for reconnaissance missions and this model accordingly includes one speeder bike. The same feature appeared in 4483 AT-AT and the location of the speeder garage has remained consistent, inside the rearmost section of the body. Opening the surrounding panels reveals several unsightly Technic elements but permits easy removal of the speeder bike which is perfect for play.Minifigures: C-3PO, Hoth Rebel Trooper, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Snowtrooper x2, AT-AT Pilot, General Veers The AT-AT Drivers are excellent minifigures, with nice colours complementing detailed design. They don’t offer much, if any, improvement on the last time they were available. It’s actually an occasion where the changes are so small that it begs the question why the LEGO Group didn’t just dust off the designs from last time. That said, they are great minifigures and the helmet printing is particularly impressive. Z speeder bikes have appeared in numerous LEGO sets since 1999, featuring diverse designs. This vehicle measures 12cm in length so is smaller than the most prevalent model which varied little between 2008 and 2013. The revised scale appears more accurate beside minifigures and still includes ample detail, most notably around the steering vanes which are exactly the right shape.

Six years is a long time in LEGO design, so 75288 AT-AT has the potential to offer something worthy of fans’ attention. — Set details — The design itself is not as good as it should be. I think it looks rather crude and unfinished with all the large gaps between the panels and sections. The dark grey coloring, however, really suits this vehicle and I wish I could see the old Imperial AT-AT in this color as well. For this set to be motorized, it meant a few positive and negative features. Of course, you got one of the most iconic Imperial vehicles in a motorized version. However, this feature meant a much less detailed exterior. The majestic Imperial AT-AT is probably the most celebrated ground vehicle from across the Star Wars universe and 75288 AT-AT deserves similar praise. This model appears extremely accurate to the source material and looks spectacular on display, featuring tremendous detail which comfortably surpasses any previous rendition of the AT-AT. The interior is excellent too, accommodating numerous minifigures, supplementary models and enjoyable functions. The moving panel that provides access to the main body’s interior is great – it pulls out and then can be pushed up out of the way, allowing full access to the troop area no matter how big your fingers are. There are five seats inside, so anyone who has extra Snowtroopers can load it up. It’s probably better to have extra chairs than the trapdoor that was included in 75054 AT-AT. The second thing that makes this version better is how robust and sturdy it is compared to the old ones. Each one of the previous ones was troublesome and required extra attention during the build and play-time afterward. Without a doubt, this combat walker remains a fan-favorite to many who cherish the Original Trilogy to this day. This is what also made it so popular in the LEGO Community. Our task today is to compare all the LEGO AT-AT versions we received throughout the years and see which one is the Best LEGO AT-AT Walker. 4483 AT-AT The Snowtroopers are the same as those introduced in the Action Battle sets, which is no bad thing as they now feature fancy leg printing. The helmet design has been around for a while, but needs no improvement. Army builders will be delighted to have two more of these cold-climate Stormies. Overall, this was a good set which received a fair amount of criticism for its price. After all, you got 200 less pieces for just about the same price. It did have a decent minifigure selection which apparently was not good enough for the LEGO community.
