Get Warmer Colours:add a small amount of brilliant yellow, tangerine orange, scarlet or cardinal red dye (example: add brilliant yellow to make magenta a true red). Test whether the color is right by dipping a small piece of fabric or some white paper in the solution. Washing machine: A small amount of any dye makes a pastel (example: use 1/16, 1/8 or 1/4 tsp of dye colour mixed with 1 cup hot water). Start with the smallest amount and add more dye or hot water as needed. Fill a stainless steel or enamel pot with just enough water for the fabric to move freely. Turn heat on high.

Pour the dissolved paint into the main washing machine detergent container. For washing machines that do NOT start pumping off, the dissolved paint can also be poured into the drum of the washing machine.

Washing machine:

Extend the dyeing time by resetting the wash cycle before the rinse cycle begins. The longer the dyeing time, the darker the colour and better the fixation. We recommend 50 to 60 minutes of dyeing time. Maintain a rolling boil and stir frequently for ½ to 1 hour. For uniform color, use constant agitation. Instructions below are for achieving the most vibrant color. For lighter shades, use less dye. Add dye to the dye bath in the appropriate amount to achieve desired shade.

When the machine has completed the wash cycle allow it to complete the balance of the wash/rinse/spin cycle. Wet the fabric and place it in the drum of the washing machine. Select a main wash program (minimum 30-40 minutes) and the highest temperature allowed as indicated on the fabric label.Maintain a rolling boil and stir frequently for ½ to 1 hour. For uniform colour use constant agitation. Add pre-wetted fabric and bring to a rolling boil. Maintain temperature and stir frequently for ½ to 1 hour. For uniform color, use constant agitation.
