Mr. Birthday is part of the Mr. Men series of books, by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Birthday is a Mr. Man who just loves birthdays, and is also the best at organising birthdays, such as a party with silly hats for Mr. Silly, and one without balloons for Mr. Jelly, in case they burst. He once organised Mr. Happy's birthday, which he celebrated. Mr. Happy tells him not to forget about a party he knew nothing about: his own birthday. Mr. Worry and Mr. Forgetful spread rumours about this, but can Mr. Birthday celebrate this birthday? Mr. Birthday was published under the title of Monsieur Anniversaire in French. Mr. Worry is the 32nd book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Worry worries about everything. If it rains, he worries that his roof will leak, and if there is no rain, he worries that all of his plants will die. If he was going to the shop, he worries that the shops will be shut when he gets there, and if the shops weren't shut, he worries that he would have spent too much money. If he gets home from the shops, he worries that he may have left something behind, or one of his things had fallen out of his basket. If none of those things would happen, he worries that he would have bought too much stuff. After that, he worries about where to put them all. He worries about the other Mr. Men, and he meets a wizard who suggests he make a list of all his worries and the wizard will make sure none of them happen. When there is nothing to worry about, Mr. Worry was then happy for a week until Monday, when he was worried about having nothing to worry about. As well as being under the thumb, Mr Brave displays signs of serious mental derangement. En route to the unbearable Little Miss Bossy's house, he encounters Mr Messy, who has fallen into a river. Mr Brave helps him out. Fair enough. Pretty brave, in fact. His behaviour becomes incomprehensible, however, when he discovers Little Miss Somersault, a beautiful leggy blonde who wants to play with him (her exact words). Now any sensible red-blooded Mr Man, when faced with a proposition like that, wouldn't need to be asked twice. But what does Mr Brave do? You guessed it - he panics and rushes away before any real action happens, leaving the gorgeous Little Miss Somersault gagging for it! Legging it towards Little Miss Bossy's house and an undoubted boot in the balls, Mr Brave stumbles upon Little Miss Trouble. The chubby redheaded minx has 'a very naughty idea' (her exact words). What does Mr Brave do? Does he jump on the filthy wee redhead and get up to all kinds of naughtiness? No. Instead, the idiot blurts out that he's late for Little Miss Bossy then sprints away without having indulged in even a little mischief with the buxom temptress. Mr Jelly is frightened of absolutely everything! Even the slightest thing will send him hiding under the covers! He lives in a quiet house far out into the woods where there is nobody to scare him, except when he one day meets a tramp who tells him how not to be scared, and that is to count from 1 to 10 everytime he gets scared. He then tried it all the time, such as when he thought that is was a crocodile or a tree about to fall on top of him, and he realised that he stood on a twig! Ditzy Genius: Despite being a brilliant inventor (and proud of it), Mr. Clever is completely clueless with emotional or sensory questions. When Mr. Happy asks him for the world's funniest joke, he admits to knowing no jokes; when Mr. Greedy asks him for the world's tastiest recipe, he admits to knowing no recipes; and so on. When he tries to return to Cleverland in shame, he walks off in the wrong direction.

Rhymes on a Dime: When using her magic in both the 1995 TV series and 2008 Mr. Men Show, Little Miss Magic often uses long rhyming incantations as she does so. Mr. Small is a Mr. Man who lives under a daisy at the bottom of Mr. Robinson's garden. He eats very enormous meals, and talks to Walter the Worm about getting a job. He then meets Mr. Robinson, who tries to get him a job. They try putting mustard in mustard jars, and they try putting matches into matchboxes. Neither job goes well. It's decided the best job for somebody so small is writing children's books. Mr. Robinson introduces Mr. Small to a friend who writes children's books (referring to Roger Hargreaves) and writes a book all about himself. This Mr. Men book breaks the fourth wall. Karma Houdini: she normally averts this trope, but there are a few occasions where she isn't brought to justice for her actions: He didn't find it funny when Mr. Grumpy laughed at him when after he fell on his own nose.
