I🔥WAS🔥HERE🔥FOR🔥IT!!!! It helped relieve some of the... um... tension I was feeling because of this slow burn 😉

It took me a bit to connect to them as a couple, but once I did I was a goner for them! And that bonus epilogue was epic! the secondary characters stole the spotlight for me. i really enjoyed seeing the Knox & Noami cameos and of course my babies Lucian and Sloane. all my highlights for this book are actually their scenes and september 5 can’t come sooner enough.This early chapter book tells the story of a girl who loves snakes and wants to be a good advocate for them. Naomi has been exposed to a variety of exotic animals through her mother's veterinary practice and enjoys learning about them. She also wants to protect animals and feels that education and advocacy are important. When a neighbour reacts strongly to a fear of snakes, Naomi does her best to continue to protect animals without upsetting her neighbour.

Most of this book is Nash dealing with the aftermath, all while lusting over his new neighbor, Lina. He adopts the most adorable dog named Piper to help with his mental health, who I loved SO much. I've been anticipating Things We Hide from the Light for so long. I was a little bit nervous about going in, because sometimes the second book is not as good as the first book (*points at my review of Queen of Myth and Monster*). But oh my god I should have never doubted Lucy Score! This book was pure joy and enjoyment. I couldn't stop reading. I swear every time I wanted to stop to go to sleep or go do something else, the chapter ended in a way that it was impossible for me to put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next! This book is addictive af. the moments of levity.
