The overusing of words. Maaaan, the word “illuminate/d” is overused in all kinds of literature, and I’m disappointed to see that Marie Lu is a victim of this. She used the word “illuminate/d” more times than I can count in this book to the point that I got annoyed whenever it was mentioned and slightly negatively affected my reading experience.

Though the Nightwalker is most commonly found in the Shadowfell, this isn’t where they originate. To see that, one must venture to the Negative Energy plane, which is only accessible from the Shadowfell. BUT then we have Wonder Woman, who rules. We have Leigh Bardugo who also rules and who wrote a novel about Wonder Woman. So I thought, why not give Batman another chance? The Nightwalker is a 20ft tall behemoth: a humanoid shape, complete with spiral horns and long claws, comprised entirely of shadow. It is undead, requiring no food, water, or sleep. I think it was easy for me to make assumptions about Mira's character in the beginning. Much like her nemesis-turned-ally Danaus, I assumed she was somewhat morally destitute, or at least morally grey. She seems to view humans as nothing but cattle, and appears to enjoy playing games with the lives of others. This isn't to say she's unlikeable, but what I appreciated about her was her strength. It took me a while to finally start to see her intrinsic goodness. As the story progressed, I realized Mira is incredibly honorable. She avoids killing while feeding, strives to make peace with other supernaturals, and refuses to take part in the cruel games of the immortals. She protects the weak, keeps her word, and does her duty, no matter what the cost. She always tries to do the right thing. In short, she's an amazing character. Bruce Wayne has just come into his trust fund as he turns 18. He's constantly hounded by paparazzi. One night he decides to chase down a criminal in a souped up car that the cops can't catch causing the criminal to crash. Bruce gets in almost as much trouble as the crook and is sentenced to probation as a janitor at Arkham Asylum. Yeah, there's no way that would happen. There he meets a recently captured assassin and begins a Silence of the Lambs type relationship with her with some young love thrown in. Why, she's in an insane asylum instead of prison, who knows? That's the majority of the story until the big finale.

Legendary Actions

a. Another one of Adam Harrison's team is introduced in conversations - John, in the first book Haunted ( https://inspirethoughts.livejournal.c...). Will he become a main character in a future book is something we have to wait and see. I have to say that Madaleine was one of the best villains I came across lately (read “for the longest time”), and that includes not only books, but movies and tv shows too. Heather was a founding member of the Florida Romance Writers chapter of RWA and, since 1999, has hosted the Romantic Times Vampire Ball, with all revenues going directly to children's charity.

I think I even like this better than leigh’s wonder woman (which was soooo long and slightly boring until the end) With a change of attitude and a reliance upon his strengths, he starts to take the fight right to them. He owns the night, after all. He is faster and stronger than any of the soldiers. He has got a sense of honor, the likes of which they will never know. This is already my second Marie Lu novel this year - I read Prodigy earlier this month - and probably not my last either.

Nightwalker is the ninth book in the Harrison Investigation Series by the paranormal author Heather Graham published in March of 2009. The plot is centered around Jessy Sparhawk - a pirate artist at one of the Las Vegas casino - and Dillon Wolf - a private investigator working for Harrison Investigations who is hired to investigate a murder. The plot is set in Las Vegas, NV. Wolfe is always going to have his willingness and his honor to help. And this is how he wound up with the dog, and how he winds up with a young girl, as well. Together they continue on his journey. Just as long as it will take, continuing to put a foot in front of the other. Through the Red Zone which is no longer nearly as toxic anymore on to the Clear Area, which is, yet in a different way. Nightwalker 2” was released in the year 2019. The Alstons have got a beef with Jim Wolfe and want to settle up the only way that they know how to. The Nightwalker just wants to return home. He is all alone and running for his very life. He attempts avoiding humanity, however strangers stand out in this paranoid world. Sorry about this, Marie Lu. But I just don't believe you can outdo and outshine Frank Miller, Jeph Loeb, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, etc.

Remember that a drawn-out fight isn’t in your interest, as the Nightwalker excels in wasting your resources and weakening you from repeated exposure to its debilitating effects.

Plus, if the whole Bruce/Madeleine thingy is supposed to be a nod to Silence Of the Lambs then double shame on you, Marie Lu.
