About this deal

I've never used the latter, and I don't know whether they are very practical to use, nor whether I'd look like a douche, or even whether the bike (which is surely not a TT bike) will look awful with them on. And finally, I don't even know whether they'd allow any aero benefit. Evidence seems to be very inconclusive and will of course change from bike to bike. Some articles seem to say just 1-2 watts, others 6-7, others no benefit at all, etc. Rear – This is the original mounting position for bike fueling systems and is almost always a cage type of hydration system. This is mostly due to the fact that snaking a feeder tube along the entire length of the bike is not an efficient design.

Fork: SuperSix EVO Carbon, integrated crown race, 12x100mm Syntace thru-axle, flat mount disc, internal routing, 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ Delta steerer, 55mm offset (48-54cm), 45mm offset (56-61cm) As it stands, we feel that it is the best all-around value, assuming you already have a cage and mount. The bottle is made of BPA-free plastic and is much easier to clean than some of the other frame mounted systems we saw.Between the arms was 1.2w slower at 40kph and 0.5w at 30kph, but the fastest location was behind the saddle at 0.7w (40kph) and 0.3w (30kph) - 20sec over an IM bike leg. A lightweight climbing machine that also happens to be super-aero, the new SuperSix EVO promises A LOT of performance gains.

Still, the Torpedo Versa 200 makes room in an already crowded market by providing pretty much everything that the Torpedo Versa 500 does at a lower cost. Give and Take Make no mistake, Speedfil is definitely not on par with some of the more prestigious brands on our list, but it does have the advantage of a significantly lower price than the other front mounted hydration systems too. Aero water bottles look very fancy on a road bike, even more, when they are fully integrated with the frame or handlebars. We have all seen pros using them on triathlon events. And many wonder if aero bottles are really worth it or if it is just a pro thing. If you need more than one bottle - particularly on half-ironman courses and longer, you're likely going to be using it for a concentrated solution with a bunch of calories in it. Many top athletes like this solution. With your swappable BTA bottle up front for water or course drinks, you're best off using the downtube (or seat tube) bottle for a good 1,000 calorie or so mix. You take small sips from this every now and again, and a steady stream from your BTA bottle, which is easier to get to. Since you won't be swapping this bottle, it makes sense to make it as aero as possible, and that means one of several choices. Specialized, Arundel, Bontrager, and Profile Design all make good bottles, some of them integrate better with certain frames than others. If you have a Specialized bike, get the Specialized bottle and mount it on the downtube. If you have a Trek, get the Bontrager and mount it on the seat tube (it fits better there). The general rule is to put it where it better "completes" the shape of your bike without leaving gaps. As we mentioned earlier, bottle placement can be very individual, but the results we saw for Jess were typical to what we see with a lot of riders. We often recommend that if in doubt, place a bottle behind your saddle as this usually results in the least penalty. In some cases it has even been faster! Having a bottle between your arms is also a good option as we found with Jess, but it works best with riders that have their arms close together, rather than wide apart. Jess decided to go with the fastest of the available choices (500ml bottle behind the saddle) for her future long distance TTs.
