In Danish, skum means foam and the design was made out of an inflatable material similar to that used in the construction of hot air balloons. Lodestar is absolutely fabulous. When you see it from a distance it sort of looks like a spaceship. Up close you discover this is a shiny steep World War II jet nose down with its tail blossoming into a beautiful flower decorated with hand blown glass flowers. Made from lumber wrapped in plywood, the structure featured a series of fire elements that shot flames into the air. We all loved this installation. It’s definitely one of the larger ones at Chatsworth and features three moths sat atop a three towering metal spites. The base of the sculpture include a couple of benches which make it a great place to rest your legs after following the Burning Man Trail at Chatsworth. Lodestar by Randy Polumbo
One thing that stays the same every year at Burning Man is the presence of a monumental temple made from wood that is also burned at the end of the festival.
On our first burn, fellow Burners were always so kind in offering advice, support and tips on things you might need to consider. The opening to the chamber must consist of at least two temperature-controlled and airtight chambers that may be sealed in case of emergency. SCP-457's chamber should be kept at high humidity with a drainage system installed in the floor, as well as a misting sprinkler system installed and running constantly, and emergency hoses capable of at least 2.1MPa (300 psi) of water pressure. SCP-457 is allowed a small structure upon the wall of its chamber that remains water-free, but only allows for minimal protection and preservation of form. For Ukrainians, these anti-tank hedgehogs symbolize protection and unity. During the early days of the war, ordinary Ukrainians created thousands of hedgehogs from three sections of iron I-beams welded together to safeguard their communities.
